Steps from our door is the historic St. Charles streetcar line that can escort you to the University area located uptown, or downtown to the French Quarter. Within blocks of this location are tons of salons and spas, (Belladonna Day Spa), award …
My wife and I chose to stay at this vacation condo in the Garden District for our Christmas holiday in New Orleans, and could not have been happier with the visit. The owner was there to meet us on our arrival (and helped guide us in by phone once we got to the Garden District), and provided a lot of good tips for shopping and dining in the immediate vicinity. The kitchen is very well furnished so cooking when we wished was easy to do - and there is a great grocery store less than a block away. The TV and cable setup with on demand movies was a great bonus. The shops and restaurants on Magazine Street are a short walk away (and for restaurant recommendations on Magazine, we greatly enjoyed Mayas and Amici Pizza), and the Charles St. streetcar is just out the front door, so the location is incredibly convenient.
The unit was very clean and well maintained on our arrival. The unit is not large, with just two main rooms, but we are used to this on travel and so it was perfect for our stay. We will definitely try to book this again for our next visit.
Had a wonderful stay at this property. Branden and his wife were communicative and met us at the property with the keys and condo instructions. We were impressed. They were organized and welcoming. The condo was well equipped and cozy. 1 block to the streetcar, quiet and a nice parking space. Friendly neighbors. Easy walk up to floor #2. We would stay there again!
We LOVED our vacation condo!! It had a wonderful feel to it and the location was AMAZING!! We were a block from the St Charles Street Car, a block from The Fresh Market, a stones throw from downtown. This was the first time we did not stay in the French Quarter and we LOVED how quiet it was. The owners were wonderful about communicating with us and were very friendly upon our arrival. They had several brochures of great things to do that were nearby and tips for using the transportation system. We felt completely safe. The neighbors were friendly and asked how our vacation was going and if we needed anything. We used the washer and dryer which was a bonus so we didn't need to pack as much. The kitchen was a good size. We loved the books that were there and I even read Drew Brees book while I was there. The courtyards were beautiful and had the lovely New Orleans feel. The neighborhood was nestled in condos and historical homes. We will definitely be inquiring if this property is available again when we return to New Orleans. Parking was a BONUS for us because we drove down from Michigan.
This apartment was so convenient! We attended a wedding at The Elms Mansion and it was only a two block walk from the apartment. It was nice to come back and change clothes before the after party on Bourbon St! The trolley was very close and runs all night. It was a short walk to grocery and drug store- I even found a place for a manicure near by. The apartment was clean and had everyting we needed and more! The only drawbacks were that the bed was a little soft and the water pressure in the shower seems to be tied to the heat of the water- more pressure, more heat. Those are the only negative things about this place. An absolute bargain compared to a hotel! We would reccommend this place to our friends and will stay again when we go back to NOLA. Don't be foolded by the picture of the outside garden. It is not below ground...the way the picture was taken makes it look that way but it is just the way the picture was taken. There is a fence surrounding the property and you have to unlock and lock as you come and go...very secure. The apartment is on the second level.
This place was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I. Brandon was an exceptional host. He answered all my questions and he gave us a good list of places to go. The actual apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures. The neighborhood was nice. There really is nothing to complain about. If you are looking for a nice place to stay outside of the French Quarters I highly recommend this place.
This GD condo served as a great home base during our five day stay in NOLA. It was great to have a living room separate from the bedroom. The place was modern and clean. The location was great, steps away from the streetcar and a short walk to magizine street. We will be back! Thank you Brandon for a great place to stay and recommendations!
The condo was great! Brandon was an amazing host.
Every amenity fit our needs. My wife and I will hopefully
Never stay at a hotel again as long as Brandon has the property
It was tremendously equipped, just enough space for two. Not to mention immaculately kept. Anyone looking for peace of mind and access to everything
STAY HERE....!!!!! Truly five star *****. Also the garden district was a step back
Into time. The architecture, the historical esscence was truly amazing.
Street car stop was steps away as stated in the description. For dining we re commend
The trolley stop for breakfast, Juan's Flying Burrito on magazine, and for an amazing
Selection of cheese cake Copelands cheesecake bistro..
Again to Brandon thanks for the hospitality and see you in September
Sincerely and with thanks
J Paul & Tori Young
Everything we needed foot steps away from our door. Would recommend and return to next time in NOLA!
My husband and I stayed for 1 week over Mardi Gras time. The location is exceptionally good for the uptown parade route, being only about a half block off St Charles Ave. Our daughter lives in Nola and joined us for some of the parades, so the apartment worked great as a base of operations.
The apartment is small but very well appointed with everything one would need for a stay. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hangers. Kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pans/dishes etc. Very large fridge with ice maker was even stocked with chilled beer glasses. Water-cooler with bottled water was provided, which was also great given the lousy tap water in Nola. Has convection oven and electric cook-top. Large TV, stereo and even a Wii, though would have liked an iPod connector to play my music through the system. I appreciated having some cleaning supplies provided too (eg vacuum, Swiffer) since it was a bit rainy while we were there and impossible to not track in some dirt when coming back from parades.
The apartment complex is small, having only 6 units. The units share a nice, common courtyard area which would be pleasant for drinks. (The only drawback was that the courtyard was mostly taken over by smokers while we were there.) There is an on-site free washer/dryer (downstairs) and detergent is provided. The owners have really though of everything a guest could need for a great stay!
Each unit has 1 off-street parking space, which was fantastic during parades as our daughter could park there. We did not rent a car and I would generally recommend against it. This apartment is super close to the streetcar, plus Nola is fairly small and it's very easy to taxi home if you head to FQ for dinner. It is easy walking distance to Magazine Street with numerous restaurants, as well as terrific bakery (Sucre) for king cakes (if you're there during carnival season) or pastries and Big Fisherman seafood market.
We highly recommend this apartment and plan to return.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights; we were in town for a wedding. The owner was accomodating and very nice to work with. He gave us a tour and pointed out several nearby places on a map to get us acclimated, as well as made himself available for any questions during our stay.
Great location! It's very close to both the bus and trolley stop (the Trolley was partly under construction during our stay, so we used both) and a quick trip to get you downtown/on your way to the French Quarters. It's also just a few blocks away from Magazine Street (Mohoney's Po-Boys is on that street; a little pricey, but they have a wonderful Fried Green Tomato/Grilled Shrimp Po-Boy).
The place itself is lovely. They've done a great job decorating, everything is clean and organized. The apartment looked just like the pictures, even a little better in person. Very resonable price for such a good place. I would definitely recommend this rental to others!
This place is perfectly located, adorable and clean. Highly recommended.
Our expectations were exceeded when we arrived. I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness and atmosphere in this Condo. The location was perfect and allowed easy access to everything we wanted and more in New Orleans. Public transportation, restaurants and convenience stores are in close walking distance The owners provided ample amenities and personal touches that made the stay enjoyable. We would recommend this location to anyone that is coming to New Orleans (as long as they aren't coming when i am :)
We would love to stay here whenever we are in New Orleans.
Thank you for making our stay fabulous!!!
