Trudy, Ed, and Willie, Home now and back to reality. Thanks again for making our stay in New Orleans such a pleasant one. The Flag House was beautiful and comfortable and your hospitality was very welcoming. Thanks for your special touches of flowers, cheese plate, and the delicious cake which was enjoyed by all. My family has been taking trips together for the past nine years and we all agreed that our vacation in NOLA was one of the best. Trudy and Ed were so hospitable and helpful. The house was perfect for the five of us. Having the street car close by made our visits to the French Quarter, Riverfront, Bourbon Street easily accessible. I would stay at the Flag House again when I return to New Orleans and highly recommend it to everyone.
Very clean and spacious for our family (5 adults, 1 child). Manager of property very friendly and hospitable (provided a yummy cake and other goodies on arrival). Great area, quiet and very close to tram line. The satellite television even had international rugby. What a bonus for us Fijians.
The Flag house is without question the best VRBO property our extended family has visited to date. From the moment we walked in the door, the message was clear. This exceptional property and the owners are about one thing; making your visit to the home and the city as close to perfect as possible. They achieved that goal. We celebrated my sister's 60th birthday on site. We brought in food, live music, over twenty people and wanted for nothing. Without being asked, Eddie set up the beautiful courtyard with fans and an event tent. The home is exquisitely furnished and spotless. The house is quiet and beds are comfortable. The owners bent over backwards to make sure that our visit to the Flag House was flawless. Thank you again Trudy and Eddy, from all of us!
First of all I must have searched for days to find the right house trying to find the perfect location, safe neighborhood, easy access to everything and almost immediately when I looked at the flag house I knew this was the right one...I don't know why but I did... Then when we actually got there the moment I walked in i knew why...The home is so warm and inviting . Then after meeting Trudy and Ed I immediately knew what TRUE southern hospitality is..We were welcomed with a case of water and delicious sandwiches which was truly needed after a long day of travel. The pictures represented the house exactly . It was also comforting to know that the owners lived next door. We definitely got our moneys worth and then some..Thank you Trudy and Ed
We could not have been happier with our stay at The Flag House. The pictures did not do justice to the beauty of the property. The owners thought of everything we might need to get comfortable in our home away from home and could not have been more helpful when it came to answering any questions we might have. The house was only a few steps from the streetcar line which made it very easy to get around. The neighborhood felt safe and well-maintained. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and would stay here on our next trip to New Orleans. Thank you Trudy and Ed!
Pleasantly surprised with house. Well decorated and very spacious interior, the best value I could find for price in the area by far. Very convenient location with street car stop, had no issues with transportation 2 miles down to French Quarter. Clean house, great outdoor space. Very friendly owners, we were provided cookies and sliders on arrival, can't beat that. Had a great time and will look at this property again if I am ever back in New Orleans.
Our stay in the Flag House was FABULOUS! Such a beautiful home in a great location. First of all, with no trouble we drove right up to it & realized it is better than was described, & the pictures do it no justice. Extra clean & roomy with very comfortable beds. Everything was prefectly maintained in every aspect, with quality clean linens to use during our stay, quaintly furnished with antiques everywhere that have quality & character, & tastefuly decorated around the entire house with a great designer's eye for art. Trudy & Eddie make you not only feel comfortably at home, but just like family, as well. The suggestions given for entertainment were fantastic & we enjoyed everything we were able to do & see during our stay. We saw a big portion of Nawlins' & had a great family time. Only a few steps to the famed streetcar line, convienent & reasonable transportation. The architecture is truly unbelievable around the entire area to include the French Quarter & especially the mansions on St. Charles Avenue. We were able to tour The Oak Alley Plantation with our teenage daughter & would recommend it to all as we had a really good time, beautiful & very interesting. The food was to die for each meal be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the seafood is so fresh which makes the difference in quality, we were in heaven the entire time. They saved the best for last & treated us to a Nawlins' Lousiana family crawfish boil, man what an experience! A very interesting time for us, never having been to one. They said if you want a crawfish boil around here, they call Eddie's brother, there is nothing any truer, it was delightful! I have to say it was delicious & with their family members to coach us, we got the hang of it & ate untill we could hold no more. A great experience for anyone that has not had the pleasure, & visiting with their family & friends was a pleasure. I highly recommend a stay at the beautiful Flag House, you will want to come back often! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Trudy & Eddie for your southern hospitatility, there is no substitute for it, anywhere on planet earth, we have never been treated so well, ever!
My best girl friends and I had a wonderful time spending a long weekend in Trudy's beautiful home to celebrate the bridal shower of our best friend and sister. The house was perfectly comfortable for the 7 of us to stay in and it was even large enough to host the shower of 40 people. The house was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with travel necessities. Trudy was so accommodating and willing to provide us with anything she could. We could not have asked for a better weekend! I plan that in the future, if we need lodging in New Orleans, my family will use Trudy's home once again.
Fantastic!!! We came to New Orleans for Super Bowl XLVII weekend and fell in love with the home, its owners and the city. The house is beautiful (pics are accurate) as well as convenient (streetcar access right at the corner) and is only surpassed by the hospitality of the owners who live next door (Trudy & Eddie). They treated us like family, set us up with basic essentials some treats (nice surprise) and at our request steered us to activities and restaurants that allowed us to be "locals" for the 5 short days we were there. We adopted them as Baltimore Ravens fans for the weekend and they let us adorn the front porch to reflect our support. After jam packed days & nights of sightseeing and a few extended evenings on Bourbon Street, this was a great place to call "home" to relax and rejuvenate. There is so much to do and see in New Orleans that a return visit is absolutely a must - and without a doubt we would call the "Flag House" house home again! Thank you Trudy & Eddie for a fabulous experience.
This was our first trip to the Mardi Gras in years, and we wanted a place that offered easy transportation to the French Quarter and downtown areas. The streetcar was at the end of the street. I would highly recommend this property. The listing and photos were accurate and exceeded our expectations.
Me and my son stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday, it was one of the best places I have ever stayed. The place was beautiful and very well kept. The patrons are as kind and easy going as you could ever hope to find. The location was perfect. We could catch the trolley about 50 yrds from the door and go most anywhere in the city. When I come back to New Orleans, I will definately stay here again.
Such a warm welcome. I felt the true southern hospitality via Trudy's family. Great facility. Near French Quarter. Very close to the Trolley. Very Comfortable bed. Specially Great Kitchen. It was such a great experience staying in this house. I highly suggested to everyone!! Two Thumbs Up!!!
