My friends and I stayed here for the Nola Bowl! Geaux Cajuns! The location is perfect and the house is cozy and full of love! Ms. Maureen and Mr. Ronnie made us feel welcome by having drinks and snacks for us to enjoy! The beds are incredibly comfortable and the courtyard is phenomenal! This is truly the best place to stay in Nola by far! We plan on coming back for a romantic getaway on our wedding night! ;)
Maureen and Ron, thank you for sharing your home with us! We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights/5 days. It was easy getting into the house when we first arrived. We used the bikes almost every day, that is a must!! It is a lovely ride to the french quarters and doesn't take very much longer to get to the Garden District. It was a GREAT local experience. I can't say that enough! The house was newly renovated with two full bathrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. The bedrooms are both upstairs. Note, you have to walk through the 2nd bedroom from the master bedroom to get to the upstairs bathroom or to get downstairs. The people who are staying in the 2nd bedroom have little privacy, so hopefully you're traveling with good friends :) The bed I slept in was SO comfortable. They have a great outdoor area that I wish we could have spent more time in. Overall, this place is a great find! I would stay there again! Thanks, Maureen and Ron!
I planned a trip for a college reunion with my closest girl friends in New Orleans. Four days of fun and frolicking through the city! The best part about our stay was knowing every evening we would come home to "the cottage". The house was immaculate when we arrived. It had anything and everything we needed. The courtyard was perfect for gathering and talking.... I can't tell you how lucky we were to be there, in the historic Bywater area of the city! Thank you Maureen and Ronnie. You are the best!
The house was very clean and well-maintained. The courtyard was truly amazing. The owner was helpful. If you want to be close to the French Quarter, then this might not be the place for you. But we loved it and still plenty to do within walking distance. Although, the Quarter is only a short bike ride away.
Maureen was great and very accommodating. We walked in and were quite thirsty and low and behold the fridge was stocked with beers. It was a perfect start to our stay. The location was great and the house is exactly as pictured. It's not huge, but it's exactly what you would expect from a "shotgun" house in NOLA. We wanted a comfy place to rest when we weren't out having fun, and we wanted to be within biking distance of the French Quarter. This place achieved both. It was a little bit further of a walk than we expected to Frenchman or the River walk, but that was fine with us as we needed to walk off the night before several times during our stay. This place is great for a romantic get away with friends or a group get away with the guys or gals. It's way better than a hotel and the Bywater neighborhood was the true N'awlins experience we were looking for. I would stay there again for sure.
We had a great time, but there were some plumbing issues. The plumbing in the house is a bit old, but I called the owner and she had it fixed within the day. I appreciate her fast response. The house is beautiful but the rooms don't give you the most privacy as they are attached. You have to walk through one bedroom to get to the bathroom upstairs or to even go downstairs. We had two couples so it was a bit awkward in the mornings. You had to wait for one couple to wake up and get dressed because you didn't want to walk in on them.
Still, the house is amazingly located close to everything and we sat on the deck every night, which was Soooo beautiful! To have a drink and see the moon every night was the highlight of our day. Highly recommend this property, but again it might be awkward for more than one couple-unless someone draws a short straw and sleeps on the pullout couch downstairs.
A great place & a wonderful experience on the fringe of the French Qtr. The Bywater is a fun & lively area and just a short bike ride to the French Quarter. The home is exceptionally clean (which is very important to us), and modern. We have stayed at several VRBO locations and this home ranks up there with the best. Maureen delivered exactly what we needed from her... Including a little sound, motherly advice :-) Thank you so much!
We had 6 girls come into NOLA from all parts of the country to celebrate a bachelorette as well as a couple of birthdays. None of us had been to NOLA before and had no idea what to expect, how to really get around or where anything was in relation to the house.
On arrival, we all absolutely loved the house. It was exactly what we were looking for in having a place with a kitchen and a little extra space versus using a hotel. Both of the beds are super comfortable too! The patio was an added bonus and we spent every morning nursing off our night before with coffee and mimosas. The house is only about a mile from the French Market and the streetcars, so it's very easy to get into town whether you walk, ride a bike or take a cheap cab ride to the market and then explore from there. At night, cab rides were ~$12-15 to get back from Bourbon Street. There are also a few hidden gems closer to the house that we discovered for brunch that were
really great too.
On top of all that, Maureen was super accomodating! She was so welcoming and was open to text messages all weekend if we needed help or advice about anything. It felt more like staying at an aunt's house instead of someone we've never met in person!
The only real comment/complaint we would have is the pull out bed is not very comfortable (when are they ever tho). I drove to NOLA and brought an air mattress with me so we didn't really have an issue with anyone not sleeping. The couch itself is comfortable to sleep on too, but a mattress pad would be useful if you have more than 4 people sleeping there.
We had an absolutle blast on our trip and if we ever return, this is the first place I would look for availablitiy before looking anywhere else. Thank you so much for making our stay so great!
We have been to new Orleans several times in the past and have always stayed in hotels. But WOW what a difference to actually stay with the locals! The house is gorgeous, so authentic and beautifully decorated. The courtyard was definitely our favorite feature, gas lamps and all! The house had all the amenities to make you feel right at home. The location is also absolutely perfect. There are so many local eateries and watering holes, all within just blocks. This is the perfect neighborhood to experience the "real" new Orleans. It is also only a $9 cab ride to the French quarter. We will definitely be back to stay at your gorgeous home on our next trip! thank you, thank you, thank you!
Cute cottage, very clean and very convenient to all the attractions. Maureen even has 4 bikes which we used everyday to get around the city. The bikes were a lifesaver... it cut down looking for parking which is just terrible in the city. My teenage kids loved the biking and venturing into the heart of the city which is about 8 blocks away. New Orleans was so fun,the food, the people, the music and the spirit of the city was great. Will
definitely use this place again. Maureen was so accommodating and made us fell so welcomed.
Loved all the local restaurants in the neighborhood and the renovations on this property. Very nice. Highly recommend.

Review #6204797 Felt like home
I took my daughter and three of her friends to New Orleans. All five of us stayed in the house and were very comfortable. Everything you could possibly use or need is there. The house was very clean and furnishings are very nice. The patio was great to hang out and relax. The house is close to great Restaurants, bars, the French Quarter, River Walk, City Park, French Market and shopping. The house is easy to find with on street parking right in front of the house. I am planning another trip in the next few months and will definitely call Maureen to stay here again. Could not have been more pleased. Was a great trip! Maureen was so helpful with everything! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Each year we come down for Jazz Fest and try to stay in this area.
It was close enough to every place we frequent and the surrounding blocks in the neighborhood have really transformed.
This house was comfortable and the perfect size for our group.
Also, the home owners are amazingly sweet and so helpful!
Wonderful location with great parking and restaurants within walking distance. The home was immaculately maintained and created a very memorable New Orleans experience. Thanks Maureen for everything!
A group of friends and I rented this house for a weekend in late March and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to New Orleans. The courtyard is great, everything is newly remodeled, sleeps 6 people comfortably. The balcony is nice to have in the morning. I really enjoyed the neighborhood as well. Great restaurants at the end of the block and around the corner, and there were a group of musicians who were practicing across the street, which gave us some great free live music. It's walkable to the French quarter or a short Cab ride. The owner really took care of us, highly recommended.
I just got back from my NOLA trip for my bachelor party. We arrived a little early and Maureen had no problem with us dropping off our bags while we explored the neighborhood until we could get into the house. The area is filled with great, little hole in the wall restaurants that have some of the best food I've ever eaten. When we got back after a great lunch at Booty's (just around the corner), the house was professionally cleaned with fresh sheets and toiletries. The best part of the house isn't just the LOCATION - walking distance to the French Quarter, but the COURTYARD. Gas lights, privacy, and SPACE! Last, but definitely not least is the size of the interior of the house. Great living space with 2 huge bedrooms AND 2 bathrooms. Perfect for groups. When, and there WILL be a when, I go back to NOLA, my first thought of where to stay will be this house. Maureen is very laid back and EXTREMELY easy to work with. I was completely impressed and more than satisfied with the house. THANK YOU!!!!
P.S. Thanks for the homemade jambalaya that was waiting for us on the stove. Best way to start an awesome trip!
This is a wonderful place to stay. The home is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities. The owners have thought of everything and even provided snacks. The neighborhood is off beat and interesting so we felt like we got a flavor of the city. The French Quarter was not quite as close as we expected but still walking distance.
We, a student group of 8, stayed at this location while working at the Super Bowl. We could not have had a better experience. Ron and Marueen were wonderful, accessible, and extremely helpful. Maureen greeted us when we arrived and was in contact with us throughout the trip if we ever needed anything. The house was beautiful, cozy, and clean with an amazing patio that we sat on almost every night. The house with fully stocked with towels and any kitchen appliances we needed to cook dinner.
The neighborhood was perfect for us, with cool, hip, bars and restaurants right down the street. We were able to get a cab to the French Quarter every night within 10 minutes.
I would highly recommend this location to anyone traveling to New Orleans, it was incredible!
Thanks to our hosts for creating such a lovely space for us to relax and enjoy NOLA. So cozy and beautifully decorated. Quaint, ecclectic and vibrant neighborhood just a few minutes' drive to the French Quarter. Owners provided lots of helpful information. We would definitely return!
