A nature lover's dream … . The large windows of this rustic home look out on the San Francisco Bay and the trails of Mount Tam are literally right out your door. It's hard to believe that San Francisco is a mere 14 miles away when you wake up to …
Excellent location, beautiful setting, a wonderful blend of both worlds. literally minutes from San Francisco and a relaxing drive to wine country, without being overrun by the crowds. Perfect for two couples or a small family. The only problem is you will be tempted to not leave the property and enjoy all the wonderful experiences so close by. I would definitely recommend and would stay there again.
First, there are the views... Really incredible from the yard, kitchen and dining area. The house 1960s-ish not updated but clean and very comfortable and we really enjoyed to feel of the house. There are also the hummingbirds. The location was terrific. It is actually on Mount Tamalpais, a few minutes to Muir Woods and other areas for hiking and recreation. Also very easy access to the bridge and the city and everything else. We hope to visit again. I recommend for anyone.
During our last trip to Mill Valley, we have rented this property and stayed for 5 days. As the photos show well, it is a mid-century house in original condition. However, it is actually better and cozier than expected. The views are amazing from all rooms, living areas, kitchen, even from the guest bathroom! The outside patio is huge and very relaxing to stay enjoying the views. The location of this property is perfect especially for those looking for trails, and also very quiet since there is only 1 neighbor. It is walking distance to Mill Valley downtown/depot, a nice 15 min. walk (going the shorter way). It was above our expectations and we will consider staying there again in the future.
Hello it is my pleasure to write a review on this home. We stayed for a weekend. Our experience was one of stillness and beauty, truly a million dollar view of San Francisco. We hung with our friends and relaxed and had fun. The house is simple and very rustic. With all the creature comforts and more.
We have been staying in this house many time through out the years and we can't imagine not staying there at least once a year. It offers enough of the retreat feeling that we are looking for to be away however it is so comfortable and inviting that you do feel at home! It is steps away from the National Forest for hikes, bike rides and splashing in the creek but if you feel like you need the city buzz, San Francisco is 30 min. away. We enjoy having breakfast with the SF Bay as a backdrop, the cozy evening by the fire, the kids playing "guess what kind of creatures we found" and the lazy pizza night in Mill Valley. The style of the interior makes you go back in time and give you a sense of peace and warmth.
