Room in Victoria Park with Garden
Be our local VIP! Modern design guest room in secure Victorian maisonette with art gallery and garden to enjoy! Beside lush Victoria Park in buzzing hip Hackney. Fab transport links, pubs & shops. King bed, large screen TV, 4pm cocktails & more!

If you are interested in living like a Londoner with an art & culture experience, this is the place! Step through our contemporary fine art gallery to find a gorgeous garden and your London abode! Prepare to be greeted by wafts of fresh bread baking in the pop-art kitchen along side Kate Moss and Karl Lagerfeld peering out from pictures on the wall. Do the royal red carpet walk downstairs to your fantastic guest room lined with wallpaper designed by none other than Dame Vivienne Westwood, complimented by original artwork and Philippe Starck Louis Ghost chairs. The king-sized bed is super comfortable with luxury memory foam mattress guaranteeing a good night's sleep for 1 or 2 guests. Other features include wood flooring, large screen high definition tv (with over 80 channels), kettle, coffee maker, tea, coffee, microwave, steam-iron, mini fridge (containing a couple of complimentary beers) and spacious floor to ceiling mirrored walk-in wardrobe to accommodate the most indulgent of Oxford Street fashion shopping trips.

As the guest room is located on the lower ground floor it benefits from the fact it completely eliminates traffic sounds or noisy neighbours as there are shops as neighbours on either side which are closed at night. The room has a window you may open and the door has its own lock and key. There is only 1 other bedroom on the floor and we mainly use it for sleeping as there is way too much else to do in London! Please note we have 2 clean and well behaved lovely pet cats (Grace Jones & Oliver) but the guest room is off limits to them.

You are welcome to enjoy 24 hour access to the garden which is flourishing with flowers, foliage and berries! We offer guests complimentary tea or cocktails in the garden every day at 4pm if you fancy. You also may visit our art gallery during open hours (Wed. - Sat) and private views (first Thursday evening of the month). To make things sweeter, you have access to our Tate membership which allows you to attend feature exhibitions for free and entry to private members bars/cafes of the Tate Modern and Tate Britain. You also have access to our discount card for 20% off food and 10% off drinks at our local gastropub, The Lauriston.

Back at home, the kitchen and bathroom are shared areas which we keep gleaming, clean and tidy and stocked with towels and soap. The mirrored bathroom cupboard is entirely for your personal use. We provide tea, coffee and appliances in the guest room for convenience and privacy but you are welcome to use the kitchen and appliances too. Plates, cutlery, fresh growing herbs and essentials are available for use in the kitchen. We provide fresh home-baked bread, milk, butter, fruit and cornflakes for your breakfast on a self-serve basis so you may eat whenever you find convenient.

You will be sharing the flat with us, a couple in our 30s who love art and going out to events. If you wish to join us for a private view at one of many London galleries, we're happy to take you along. We host another flat which means we are very experienced hosts and happy to answer your questions, recommend things to do and chat with you during your stay. We are not intrusive but easily approachable and certain to ensure our guests have an enjoyable time!

The neighbourhood "Victoria Park Village" is absolutely charming with independent shops, pubs, organic fine grocers, and excellent restaurants. Highly recommended is a walk through the vast and stunning "Victoria Park" (aka "People's Park") which is London's oldest public park (est. 1845). The band The Clash famously played the 'Rock Against Racism' concert there in 1978 and today there are other music festivals such as Lovebox happening each summer. The park contains 2 lakes, tennis courts, row boats, cafés, Victorian monuments, and lush gardens. A 10min. walk down Victoria Park Road will lead you to Broadway Market in the area of London Fields. Every Saturday the market is bustling with gourmet food traders, street musicians, fashions, and excitement. Sunday is a great day to walk to Columbia Road Market to take amazing photos of the floral explosion! There are dozens of contemporary galleries all within walking distance and the newly established Fashion Hub features a mix of young designers and top brand outlet stores including Burberry, Pringle and Aquascutum. We are also near to Bohemian Hackney Wick, popular Shoreditch, trend-setting Clapton and night-clubbing Dalston. Victoria Park Village is the perfect place for an authentic experience of life as a Londoner!

Transportation is very convenient. We are steps from 2 bus stops and buses average every 2-5min. It is a 5min. bus ride to the tube or alternatively, 15min. walk. We are closest to Mile End tube (Central, District, Hammersmith & City Lines) and Bethnal Green (Central Line). We are also near to Cambridge Heath train or London Fields train.
It takes about 25min. to get to the centre (Oxford Circus) on public transport. We are 20min. walk from Shoreditch, 10min. walk from London Fields, 20min. walk from Hackney Wick and the Olympic park.

Parking is available on the street for £3.50/day Mon.-Fri. (ask Ingrid in advance for a visitor parking voucher) or free of charge on Sat. and Sun.
