Mediterranean style 1 bed with garden, sleeps 4, central London
The kitchen and living room are open-plan on the ground floor, with warm tiled flooring and a large comfy cream sofa. There are some homely touches with the bookshelves and a patterned rug. The open fire with its ornate surround would be lovely on a chilly evening. The kitchen is just off this main space, and is well-equipped with modern fitted cupboards and a hob and oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. At the far end of this room is the dining room in the conservatory. The glass windows and ceiling make this a great area for dining at all times of year and a good spot to enjoy a morning coffee. Theres a scrubbed wooden dining table and chairs, and a large book collection.
Follow the steps up to the garden from this room and youll find a picturesque, walled garden with traditional cobblestones and lots of pot plants. This would be a fantastic choice of property for the summer months.
If you head upstairs you will find the airy master bedroom, with white walls, a fireplace, coffee table, chest of drawers and sash windows. Theres an en suite bathroom with a bath tub and shower attachment, a chest of drawers, a sink and a loo. Theres even a door from this room which leads out onto a small balcony area and the garden, giving this property a very Mediterranean feel.
A double mattress can be set up in the living room for a third or fourth guest.
For location, this property is in North West London, in the leafy area of Maida Vale/Kilburn. There are lots of quaint cafes and one-off restaurants nearby. Just to the South you have Maida Vale or Little Venice for its canals, and there are many more waterside eateries and gastropubs to enjoy here. Head towards Regents Park and youll also find St. Johns Wood, an affluent area with many boutique shops along its High Street (about a 20 minute walk or short busride). Just the other side of Regents Park is the very upmarket area of Primrose Hill, where many celebrities have chosen to live. Theres a village feel to this area with many traditional pubs as well as fine dining restaurants.
For transport, you are only a 3 minute walk from the Overground tube station, Kilburn High Road. From here you can get a direct train to Shepherds Bush for the Westfield Shopping Centre in 20 minutes. If you head to Kilburn Park tube station, a 6 minute walk, you can join the Bakerloo line which can get you directly in central London in minutes. Hop on here and you can be at Paddington for national rail and the Heathrow Express in 5 minutes, or Oxford Street for shopping in 15 minutes. If youre heading to Regents Park with a picnic, it has its own stop and you can be there in only 13 minutes from Kilburn Park.
For Notting Hill and the famous Portobello market, it is only a 15 minute tube journey or if youre going to South Kensington for the boutique shops and the museums, it will take you under 25 minutes.
Guests should take note that a train line runs behind the property and, when the train passes, the noise can be heard inside. This is reflected in the price and the property has been priced competitively for this reason.

About the home:
Faint heart never won fair lady
What brings the first blossom of romance? Is it the moonlit walk, the melting glance, the gift of a dozen long-stemmed roses? Here’s a home which seduces not through subtlety but daring. With its walls bathed in bold greys and deep dusky blues, Kelvedon Road catches the eye and wins the hardest of hearts. Buddhas beam, fairy lights entwine Eastern ornaments and soft sofas cuddle Indian cushions. Outside, steal softly to the river for a romantic amble up the towpath, or be bold and make a move on desirable Chelsea. In a location this perfect, love just finds a way.
Your host is a publisher, and Kelvedon Road is her London bolthole. Usually, you’ll find her at home in rural Dorset, strolling along the rugged coastline or working busily on her book.
Bold as love
If the romantic red brick of this mansion block doesn’t bring a blush to the cheek, just wait until you get inside. Splashed in the deepest blue-grey and dotted about with Asian ornaments, the sitting room is bold yet bright. Fairy lights drape a lovely fireplace, while a squishy chaise long waits sure of your affections. Cosy up awhile, or sweep across the smart vinyl floor into the kitchen. Here, daylight nuzzles the wooden worktop and white cupboards, while a table seats four.
The bedroom is bathed in a deep grey-green, with a fireplace, more glowing fairy lights and a blissful Buddha. You’ve Indian cushions, a wide wardrobe and a double bed robed in our crisp luxury linen. The bathroom, meanwhile, is marvellously modern. With its rain shower, trendy grey tiles and our cache of White Company toiletries, you’ll be leaving with a rosy glow.
The first move
You’re just off the Fulham Road, famed for its fashion labels and eateries. Stroll through pretty Parsons Green to the river, or turn the other way for the glitz and glam of Chelsea. With its bars, cinemas and art galleries, you won’t be short on ideas for date night on the Kings Road. The tube from Parsons Green to Piccadilly Circus takes just over twenty minutes.
