Elegantly Appointed 2BR in Heart of Downtown Dc - Virtual Tour

    Logan Circle

Elegantly appointed apartment in the heart of downtown DC can be used as a 2BR or 1BR with den. Three blocks from the Washington Convention Center, 11 blocks to the White House, 6 blocks to the hip and eclectic Dupont Circle area, 4 blocks to the …

My husband and I brought took our 4 kids to D.C. for Spring was their first time and my first in 30 years. Not knowing much about the area, I relied on reviews from other guests to help make the decision on our housing. With 4 kids (ages 17, 14, 13 and 10), we were a little unsure about the sleeping arrangements and the existence of only one bathroom...but we decided to make it work. After all, we didn't plan on being at the house for any other reason than to sleep and shower. John and Jackie were great...Jackie answered all my questions and was kind enough to make sure we had extra towels and an extra air mattress. Everyone had a place to sleep...the boys on the couches and the girls each on an air mattress. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials so you can bring groceries and cook in if you want. There is just one bathroom, and hot water got a little cooler by the 5th shower, but that was expected. The location is great. We were within a 15 minute walk to the National Mall, a few blocks from groceries, restaurants and transportation. A few must eats: Lincoln's Waffle Shop, Georgetown Cupcakes (plan to stand in line on the street), & Bus Boys & Poets . The Circulator is a great way to get around...and cheap ($1.00). If you plan to use it often, get the SmartTrip card and you'll save money and be able to use it on the Metro, bus and Circulator. It was a great trip...great location...great owners...we had a blast!
While the condo was clean, it is not really a 2 bedroom and you would be hard pressed to have 6 people stay here comfortably. The unit is really a 1 bedroom with a den/living room. Some of the furniture was also in bad condition - the kitchen table is very unstable and the coffee table was ready to fall apart. John and Jacqueline were very nice and responsive when we let them know about the coffee table. Be warned - the owners live upstairs and mornings are very loud in this basement unit. Lots of walking on hardwood above and dragging of furniture, etc, starting a 7am. The location is great, very central.
Pros: Really great location. Owners very helpful and friendly, secured a parking pass and gave instructions on where we could park. Like anywhere in DC parking is hard to find. Easy to stay here without a car. Cons: Between two large buildings so can be noisy early and during the night. Sofa-bed very uncomfortable, definitely use the airbed. Furniture a bit old and maybe worth replacing the rocking kitchen table. Would be perfect rental with a few small updates.
My husband, three of our kids (2 teens and 1 elementary age) and I spent a fantastic 4 days soaking up the city life in this beautiful apartment. It was so clean and comfortable, with an up-to-date kitchen and bath (with lovely tile floors) and beautiful hardwood floors throughout the rest of the apartment. It's in a wonderful location - within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and most museums. The owner was prompt in responding to my questions prior to our arrival and saw to it that we had everything we needed during our stay. We could not have had nicer accommodations! We will DEFINITELY stay here on next trip to D.C.
Comfortable and convenient we were able to throughly enjoy our weekend. Well stocked with thoughtful items such as a shopping cart the four of us had plenty of room. The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant answering all of our questions promptly. When in the area will definitely stay here again if available!
Very convienent to everything. Walked everywhere or took circular (thanks for the tip Jackie). The apt is located in a beautiful historic home. We truly appreciated the love and care it takes to maintain a home like that. Love that the owners lived upstairs, Jackie was very gracoius and had many helpful tips. Would absolutely stay again and would recommend to friends.
Great for this couple; able to walk to the Mall and elsewhere. Metro about 4 blocks, taxis nearby, Circulator close enough. Very clean, great kitchen and bath with comfortable bedroom. Living room had pull out bed and there was a nice patio that we never got around to using - unfortunately. Manager was most responsive and accommodating. Would recommend and return. Jackie thanks you. Philip and Linda from Oregon
Ours was about a 10 day stay for the holiday and USNA graduation. Very convenient, clean and spacious < this in comparison with other rentals. If you're up for a 15 minute walk the Mall awaits you; Metro is closer as is the Circulator[hidden gem]. Nicely equipped modern kitchen. Jackie is readily available to answer/help with any situations. She is very generous in her management philosophy. We felt secure and welcomed; was as advertised. Would stay again. Phil and Linda

This apartment met our needs perfectly. It's located in a residential area that's about 1 mile from the mall. We walked everywhere (with kids in strollers). The kitchen is great and stocked with the basics for light cooking. Coffee filters and sweetener were in the cabinet. Our kids slept on the pull out couch in the living room, and that worked well. Note that if you have older kids, you'd need the air mattress as well. Water pressure in the shower is good. Lighting was adequate. Note that this is a basement unit, though, so there is very little natural light. While there were larger retirement/subsidized housing buildings next door, there was very little traffic or noise from them. Nor was there any street noise - just the occasional footsteps of people walking around upstairs. I found this place lived up to the photos and descriptions. The decor was updated but in character with the older building, and it was nice and clean. Opportunities for improvement (small): additional light over shower, better knives, add cereal bowls, dish drainer, smaller eating table with a fold-down leaf would take up less space, sheets were a weird fabric, plastic cover on mattress made sheets slip around, sheets for couch were hard to find, and a few extra bath towels would have been nice. Also, there were no posted instructions for the TVs/DVD players, and it would be nice to have a cable channel listing. I liked the idea that the owner lives upstairs, in case we had a problem. Overall, I was quite happy with our selection. A much better deal than an expensive downtown hotel with no refrigerator!
We had a great week at this apartment. The location is fantastic, the owners were highly responsive but not intrusive and the apartment had everything we needed. We always felt safe in this neighborhood. The building itself is quite unique and historical and though it is sandwiched by two larger buildings, this did not create any sense of discomfort. We found the apartment to be clean with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was beautiful and fully equipped, the bedroom was very comfortable, our two children used the living room as a bedroom and were very pleased. The bathroom has a large tub and the washer and dryer were very convenient. We would recommend staying here!
I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who would like to explore Washington, DC, and stay close to all of its museums and main attractions. It is conveniently located, well-maintained and clean, the owner lives next door and responded promptly to all of our needs and requests. There is plenty of space and additional air-beds available if you have multiple people in your party. Because it is close to The National Mall and also to the grocery store you don't need to rent a car and worry about parking on the streets and near museums. Everything is within walking distance. We have enjoyed our stay very much!
OK, the good, the owners are very nice. However, the apartment is far from being elagantly appointed, In fact, we found it to be somewhat dated and with a lack of attention. Bed sheets seemed old and wore. Furniture is wore also. Kitchen is nice. Biggest issue was the noise from the AC unit. It is located directly next to the Bedroom and impossible to sleep with it on. Also, bathroom was musty when we arrived. I think it was becuase AC was off. Bathroom also has tile coming off the floor. Overall, it seems like the apratment needs a full overhall. It did work for us in that it was a place where we could walk to museums, etc. Location overall is OK, but be aware it is nestled between 2 housing buildings. Not sure if they are elderly housing or subsidized housing.
