<span>A Double bedroom, a living room, two balconies and a small yatch style single bedroom.</span><br /><span>A large, equipped eat-in kitchen and one bathroom. The apartment is located in the historical center of Lisbon, close to the river.</span>
<p><span>As we've moved out of Lisbon to work in New York City, we've decided to let others enjoy our special corner in Lisbon, which was recently</span><br /><span>renovated and decorated by artists living just across the street.</span></p>
<p><span>Difficult not to tell that this apartment is in the building where a couple of writers chose to live hidden from society,</span><br /><span>Isabel da Nóbrega and Nobel Award winner José Saramago.</span></p>
<p><span>At this building Saramago wrote "Baltasar and Blimunda", "The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis", "The Stone Raft" among others.</span></p>
<p><span>It's located in Rua da Esperanca - Hope street - the heart of the Madragoa district, one of the most preserved historical districts in Lisbon,</span></p>
<p><span>The apartment is on the third floor in a building without elevator, therefore not suitable for people with mobility problems.</span></p>
<p><span>The kitchen is fully equipped with a oven, fridge, toaster, microwave and dishwasher.</span></p>
<p><span>Regarding transportation, there is bus service to all of Lisbon, with three subway lines available within a fifteen minute walk.</span></p>
<p><span>Bairro Alto and the Baixa-Chiado shopping district are also a fifteen minute walk away.</span><br /><span>Cascais, Estoril and the beaches are thirty minutes away - the Cascais train line stops in the Santos station, a short five minute walk away.</span><br /><span>You can park for free on the street and there is an underground parking three minutes from the apartment. There is also taxi stop close by.</span></p>
<p><span>Monuments close to the apartment include:</span><br /><span>The Portuguese parliament and Palacio de Sao Bento, head of the government, Ancient Art National Museum,</span><br /><span>Bernardas Convent and the Portuguese Muppet museum.</span></p>
<p><span>Rua da Esperança will give you quite a neighborhood experience, from Santos grocery store, pharmacies and bakeries, there are plenty of restaurants.</span></p>
<p><span>The restaurant 'A Varina da Madragoa', for instance, is known as the place where Saramago used to go for Lunch.</span></p>
<p><span>Even though Santos is a night-life district, Rua da Esperanca is very quiet and calm at night, and we ask our guests to keep it that way.</span></p>
