Absolutely Stunning Retreat W/ Terrace Overlooking the Ocean!
The minute you enter the door you will fall in love with this STUNNING luxurious brand new beach jewel, just steps away from Windansea beach! Located in one of the nicest areas in San Diego, this meticulous decorated vacation retreat offers any co …
The apartment is absolutely fabulous, a lovely size for two people. The view from the balcony is superb, we spent every night on the balcony watching the sunset. As we were blessed with lovely weather we used the beach towels and chairs provided, additionally we also used the bikes several times. Having the extra items available, eg beach towels, beach chairs and the bikes really added to enjoyability. We also used the barbecue twice which was a really nice change as we had eaten out a lot before arriving as touring around the USA.
When we were looking at properties to rent we thought the property might be too far from the shops and restaurants but not at all, easily done on the bikes or walking. In fact we were glad we were down at this end of town as quieter and the beach much nicer.
Hope to return one day for another relaxing time.
Perfect size for a couple, property was as described, very clean on arrival, plenty of kitchen items, booking through email and paying online was simple and easy. I would highly recommend. Great area, not too busy and noise was not an issue.
Our family (dad, mum & 7 month old daugher) had a great 10 days in La Jolla. The area is stunning with lots to do & the apartment was the perfect base for that.
We really appreciated the high quality pack'n'play & high chair provided to cater for us. The apartment overall is very well maintained & looks like it was fully refurbished recently as all very much on trend.
When using a rental its the smaller touches that count, so the fact that the cutlery was all new & matching, the knives were sharp, towels fresh & not worn, basics like olive oil/salt/pepper provided etc etc all added up to allowing us to be very comfortable. Vital when we spent a lot of time in the apartment with the little one.
The beach is just a minute away & again all is provided with bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas and so forth available to use.
We also loved the outside space - it had just enough room for mum & dad to enjoy a meal as the sun went down, plus lounge on the chairs to get some rays.
Finally, don't worry about the parking. If you can't reverse in/out then you should be asking yourself whether you're qualified to drive or suffer a bit of parking pressure just because its walls on both sides rather than a wide open parking lot. We rented a Nissan Altima and had no worries.
Two tips - if planning on cooking in, get a VONS card as even on one shop it saves you cash, plus go to the Farmers Market at the weekend for some great local produce.
Overall would stay again & highly recommend it.
My daughter and I had a wonderful and peaceful stay!
The house is very comfortable and safe, located just steps away from the ocean in what I now consider as the best spot in la Jolla. The windandsea beach offers amazing sunset and the ocean is a permanent show with many surfers and huge waves. Biking to la Jolla cove and around was easy and very pleasant. I would definitly recommend the place and would love to go back again!
We just spent a week in the condo at 249 Kolmar, in La Jolla. It is an outstanding location – less than one block to the beach, and about 2.5 miles to the Cove and the center of the La Jolla shopping area. The private parking space at the rear of the building is a real asset.
The condo is larger than it appears on the Internet thumbnail photos. We spent a good bit of our time there between walks and catching up on our reading. The small balcony with an ocean view is a great place to read, although you have to be careful of sunburn. We walked to the Cove on at least three occasions. However, most of the time, we drove to the Cove to attend church, stop at restaurants, or just walk around. On Memorial Day, quite by chance, we drove up Nautilus Avenue and came across the Mt. Soledad Memorial. There are magnificent views from that location.
The condo also served as a central point from which we could easily drive to places like Torrey Pines State Park, San Diego Harbor, the USS Midway Museum, SeaWorld, the San Diego Mission, and Cabrillo National Monument.
Insofar as restaurants are concerned, we liked Eddie V’s, The Fishery, and Harry’s Coffee House (which reminded me of an East Coast delicatessen).
The conventional wisdom is that “you cannot go back.” But you will want to try.
We just spent four nights at this lovely beach condo after staying in Coronado for three. I’m so glad we made the move to La Jolla, and in particular the historic Windansea area. Highlights were the extremely close proximity to one of the most spectacular coastlines, (literally a 30 second walk), the elevated patio ocean view (stunning sunsets!), and having our own parking space. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the nicely labeled cupboards/drawers so we knew where everything went. We enjoyed having the full kitchen for mostly breakfast/lunch, although we made the most of the BBQ one evening. Another nice feature for us was the beach accessories, which were used to their fullest, and an added bonus was being able to do laundry before we left to fly home! At first I was a bit concerned that I might find this beach area too far from the Village, but this turned out not to be the case. It is a very short car ride away, and we much preferred the scenery where we were. We were still easily able to go into the village in the morning for some shopping, and back in the evening for dinner. We also enjoyed our daily walks through the sumptuous neighbourhoods close by. Last but not least, Pacific Sands Vacations was amazing to deal with—professional and helpful. Nothing negative to say about this place! We’d love to go back!
Very clean apartment with views over towards the sea from the balcony. We very much enjoyed proximity to the lovely Windansea beach. Apartment very well appointed, just as described. We hope to go back.
The apartment was just what we expected. The photos are very accurate. Since both my wife and I got a bad cold, it was nice to relax looking at the ocean instead of a hotel rool wall. The apartment is in a nice residential area and only one block to the beach. I had a small problem getting the TV to work and the owner was over within 5 minutes to help. Great apartment.
My husband and I spent 2 delightful weeks in this beautifully appointed apartment. It contained almost everything necessary for a quiet, relaxing get-away. The location is perfect, 1/2 block from the beach,
with a great walkway and beautiful views. The property was clean and well maintained. The balcony was perfect for reading, sunning, and taking meals, especially dinner with the glorious sunsets. The grill was a most welcome addition. The only thing missing on the balcony might be a retractable awning.
The one item of importance to us missing in the kitchen was an electric coffee maker. A pod machine
was available, but not to our liking. We purchased an inexpensive coffee maker and left it in the apartment should the owner wish to use it for future quests.
The location is perfect. It is close to restaurants and shops, but is a private residential neighborhood. You are close to roadways if you are interested in taking day trips. San Diego is just 20 minutes away by car and is a delightful city to investigate: restaurants, zoo, huge park area with museums, waterfront and so much more.
We are familiar with and have rented in the Windansea area before. This property is perfect for 2 adults, and we look forward to renting in the near future for one month.
JONATHAN'S is a great place to grocery shop. They have everything imaginable

The condo was fabulous - awesome location, extremely clean, well decorated and modern. The ocean view was beautiful and we loved sitting out on the spacious balcony, listening to the waves crash and watching the surfers and the sunsets. Highly recommended.
We really liked this small apartment. The location is ideal (3 minutes from the nice Windansea beach) and the view from the small terrace is fantastic. The apartment is very comfortable for a couple without children. We appreciated Ruth’s assistance (the owner) during our stay. We know La Jolla and like the village atmosphere, shopping opportunities and nice restaurants on Prospect Street.
This condo is literally 2 minutes walk from Windansea Beach in a very nice quiet neighborhood with ocean view from the balcony (great place to watch the sun set). Condo was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with all the essentials plus some extras like bikes, beach chairs, beach toys etc which made time spent on the beach very comfortable. The sofa bed is incredibly comfortable and worked well for our kids ages 10 and 7. Owner was responsive to one issue with shedding towels and replaced towels within a couple of hours. Parking is a bit narrow so if renting a car don't get an SUV (we had a Camry and it fit but anything wider would be challenging). La Jolla town center is about a 20 minute walk, however there are a handful of restaurants/coffee shops within shorter walking distance. Thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in La Jolla would definately go back.
Great location! Very quiet neighborhood. Condo exceeded our expectations in every sense. It felt like home away from home. Too many very thoughtfully taken care of details to mention in this review. Owner greeted us at check-in. Welcome booklet contains very usefull information regarding local activities. Definitely recommend to everyone. We plan on coming back.

Some neighborhoods are just wonderful! Quiet, upscale, close to the ocean, easy walk to restaurants and shops...this is one of those neighborhoods! Sit out on your large patio having a smoothie or a glass of wine, watching the sunset on the ocean, hearing the waves and smelling the fresh salt air.
When the steaks are marinated enough, throw them on the grill. There is a table for four on the front patio and a table for six on the back. Free laundry room, clean garage, and your duplex apartment is comfortable, tastefully decorated, and supplied with everything you need to make your stay carefree.
Newly remodeled about one year ago, this unit has a queen bed in the master bedroom, a double in the second bedroom, and a queen sofabed in the living room. Large flat screen TV, DVD, high speed internet with Wi-Fi, and free phone calls within the USA and Canada for your convenience.
Right down the street from you is Law Street Park, named "Best Beach Overlook" by several San Diego Websites:
This two-block long patch of lush green grass, with several shaded benches, overlooks the sandy beach from the top of a 25 foot cliff. It is a favorite spot for observing the wide white-sand beach below and the endless numbers of surfers and sail-boarders displaying their skills at wave-riding, just off-shore. The park is also a much loved spot for picnickers and sunset watchers with the added convenience of restrooms and outdoor showers. A wide staircase assures easy access to the beach below.
The location is superb! Within 3-9 miles of SeaWorld, Old Town, the downtown GasLamp district, Little Italy, the famous San Diego Zoo and lovely Balboa Park with it's myriad of interesting museums, Shelter Island and Point Loma State Park, the Embarcadero with it's armada of floating museums, harbor tours and ferries to Coronado Island.
Not far away is LegoLand, the San Diego Wild Animal Park, the flower fields of Carlsbad, the wineries of Temecula, and the historic gold rush town of Julian. And, it's only a day trip to Anza Borrego Desert State Park!
We provide the beach equipment and beach towels so just pack your bathing suit and sandals and come on out to experience San Diego's year-round nearly perfect weather!
