Beautiful apartment on the lower ground floor with your own front door in the elegant entrance hallway of a grand Georgian House, very quiet and private and exceptionally safe. Outside patio with table and chairs. It is possible to leave the bedro …
After a long, tiring flight from Toronto we really appreciated that Yvonne had arranged for a car to meet us at the airport. Yvonne, a most friendly and helpful person, met us at the flat to give us the keys and a quick explanation about it. The flat was neat, clean, well appointed with all the necessities and absolutely charming. There was more than enough room for my wife, daughter and I too 'spread out' and not be in each others' way. There are plenty of drawers, shelves and hanging space and we were pleased to find soap, shampoo and cream rinse in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the 'hobbit hole' of a second bedroom (as Yvonne called it) was perfect for our daughter. The flat is just steps away from shops, restaurants and the tube. But if you enjoy walking as our family does, a brisk 45 minute walk takes you to central London. Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, Albert Hall, the Victoria & Albert Museum are almost around the corner. There were two minor problems that we encountered but found that Yvonne was quick to take action and neither was of major consequence. The only issue that prospective guests should be away of is that this is a basement flat and there is a narrow set of stairs to be negotiated. We would most definitely stay at this flat when next visiting London.
Our family of four stayed in Yvonne's flat for 7 nights in July of 2013. After answering numerous emails with general questions about London, Yvonne met us at the flat and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The flat is very cozy and was perfect for a family with two teenagers. It is close to the Gloucester Road tube station, which we used every day. It is also very close to Kensington Palace and some of the most expensive property in London. You can walk to tons of nice restaurants and pubs, along with Kensington Palace gardens, Hyde Park, Natural History and Victoria and Albert Museums. It was very warm during our stay, and we were able to leave the patio doors and windows open day and night without any worries. It was one of the best trips of our lives and Yvonne is so nice and accomodating. I would not hesitate to recommend this flat to anyone hoping to travel to London.
My family of four stayed in the flat for 9 days just this past week, and we had a wonderful time. Yvonne was very responsive and conscientious, and her son Marc (who met us) was also very helpful and even made a special trip to get paper towels for us! The place is cute and cozy, very clean. The second bedroom is a bit small but perfect for our two kids. Great location not far from Gloucester Road tube, V&A museum, Natural History museum, and many restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!
We arrived with our grandchildren for their first visit to London. Yvonne met us and could not have been more helpful. The flat is beautiful, very well situated for sightseeing. She has thought of everything you might need for a wonderful stay, from maps to tea, coffee etc. We hated to leave. Next trip to London ---- we will be sure to stay here again. Thank you Yvonne.
Yvonne is a very nice lady and super to work with. Even before we arrived she gave me a wealth of information. The apartment was very clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect! It's within walking distance to restaurants (Bombay Brasserie, Black & Blue and Thai Square), the train (Gloucester Station), bakery, supermarkets (Waitrose, Tesco, Partridge), ATM, museums ( V&A, Natural History) and department stores. We felt very safe and at home. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Londonl
Perfect hideaway ten minutes away from the centre of London.it was a huge surprise to feel as safe as we did at home in rural Aberdeenshire! Quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. It was a beautifully decorated and clean, well laid out flat, where a lot of thought had obviously gone in to use of space. Spacious enough to house 4-5 people comfortably in style. Just one cosy and classy toilet past the double bed which we found adequate.
The owner Yvonne was very helpful and friendly, the arrival and departures went without a hitch. Just what you want when you arrive on a city break. The £12 Taxi ride from Victoria was spot on and I would highly recommend the Halio App for i-phones for getting a taxi on your door step in the shortest time available.
We all had a fabulous time and would recommend this lovely accommodation to anyone.
We had a wonderful stay at Yvonne's flat! The location is perfect and in walking distance of the V and A Museum, Hyde Park, many restaurants, food stores and the tube. The flat is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with a cozy living room and great kitchen. The patio looked wonderful but it rained for our whole stay so we weren't able to use it. We loved being able to to return to this flat at the end of the day and read on the comfortable couches! Yvonne was so kind and answered all our questions before we arrived. She was especially accommodating about our arrival time. We would happily stay here again if we ever return to London!
Yvonne (Eve) has a lot of good comments on her properties for good reason. She is wonderful as everyone says, plus she is trustworthy and reliable.
The property….it was clean and perfect for our family of 4 (two adults and two 16-year old boys). It is very nicely appointed and in a perfect location: close to the Underground, grocery stores and the sites. The beds are comfortable and so is the living/dining area. It is a very nice-safe neighborhood.
When you compare the cost of a hotel versus renting it’s a deal. We relaxed every morning and made our own breakfast. A few nights when we arrived home late we picked up some meals at Waitrose (the grocery store) and ate in.
Just like the one of the comments said, this is a basement apartment…just so you aren’t surprised. It didn’t bother us at all. It's really nice.
My mum and I rented this apartment for a week in February - I think we were Yvonne's first customers. We lucked out.
The location can't be beat. It's on a quiet, upscale street that is just a block or two from the action. There are tons of bistros and shops within a three-block radius, as well as the V&A. The tube station is about three short blocks away, as well, and it's a great station with three lines, including the one to Heathrow. We were rarely more than five or six stops away from where we wanted to go. At the tube station, there's a great grocery store, a news stand, bakery, banks, Boots - everything.
The apartment itself is excellent. The kitchen and bathroom are straight out of a design magazine (heated floors!) and everything is new and modern. But the apartment also has lots of cosy, Hobbity features like curved ceilings and neat wallpaper, so it also feels very English. The beds are very comfy with crisp white linens, there's tons of light, all the appliances are easy to work, the kitchen has pretty much everything you could need. It is what North Americans would call a basement suite, but don't let that deter you - it's very bright and open.
And Yvonne is lovely - reliable, helpful and cheerful.
