Peaceful Garden Oasis in NYC

    Jonathan Williams Houses

    Description

Holiday or business trip to New York City? Williamsburg is the spot for the globe-trotting young and hip. The coolest bars, restaurants, galleries and shopping in NYC in one of the most centrally-located and sought-after neighborhoods in the city … .

    Reviews

As an owner of 2 vacation rentals in Flagstaff and Sedona, Arizona I know what it takes to provide a great place in a highly visited location. And this place had it all! Plenty of room for 3 friends visiting the city, extremely clean and comfortable, kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals (but with all the great restaurants in the neighborhood we never used it), a beautifully maintained garden space and the street was so quiet yet less than a block to hail a taxi. Daniel was very helpful and books and magazines about the area were provided. On top of all that the location was perfect - one subway stop to the city, close to the ferry and surrounded by amazing shops and restaurants. I'll be back and have already recommended it to friends.
My wife and I just spent a week in New York and we absolutely loved this place. Super clean, great amenities, fantastic location, everything you could want and more. Why stay in Manhattan when you can stay in beautiful Williamsburg and soak up all the local flare and rich culture that Brooklyn has to offer. Close to the L train which is a quick few minutes ride right into the heart of Manhattan. With a great walk down Bedford Avenue including tons of great little shops, restaurants, bars and people watching what's not to love! If I ever moved back to NYC I'd want to live in this place. It's perfect. I hate gushing on about it but we really truly loved it. You feel like you're living in the city instead of just staying in some random hotel. Highly recommended. We'll stay here every time we come back to visit. Thanks D!

We stayed in this apartment for 11 days in early June. We had been on the road for over a month, so we were excited in equal parts about resting with home cooked food and exploring the changing world that is Brooklyn. It is rare to find accommodation that is so well set up for both. This apartment has oodles of space, has everything you could ever conceive of needing tucked away within it (without being cluttered), is accurately priced, is in a delightful old street in a great neighbourhood, has brilliant access to Manhattan (yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful) and a warm host who is casual but really clear and communicative. This is my new favorite place to stay.

My husband and I stayed in this brilliantly located and wonderfully appointed apartment for 5 nights during a recent trip to NYC. Could not speak more highly of this place and its owner, Daniel, who could not have been easier to deal with. Well located, able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Will hopefully get back again soon.

Perfect home base for week in NYC and visiting our son in Brooklyn. The apt is only 4 blocks from Bedford L which makes daily trips into Manhattan a breeze. Host Daniel extremely nice and immediately responsive via email or text to every question. He can direct you to anything! We liked the open floor plan of the apt and will definitely return.

My Husband and I stayed in New York City for 10 nights as part of our honeymoon last year. We absolutely loved Williamsburg and found it so easy to get around with the subway being so close. While Manhattan was only a 15 minute subway ride away, we found that we wanted to spend much of our time in Williamsburg. It is a really trendy area with lots of good food, bars and coffee (the cheese shop on Bedford ave is amazing!!!). The apartment was clean and well equiped with items for cooking and the supermarket was in easy walking distance. We found the owner very friendly and easy going.

I chose this apartment in Wililamsburg as an alternative to the noisy hotels of midtown Manhattan, where I was working for a week. What a treat! The studio is spacious, clean, and perfectly equipped with everything I needed. The neighborhood is lively and just three stops on the L train from Union Square in Manhattan. I always felt safe in the apartment and the neighborhood. Daniel was a generous and welcoming host while also honoring the privacy of the space I rented. I will return for another visit!

This gorgeous studio space was the ideal base for us to discover Williamsburg - quiet, cool, close to amenities, and utterly charming. Host Daniel was fantastic, providing just enough information for us to set out well-armed but not so much as to prevent us from exploring the neighbourhood our own way. Pretty garden, perfect for an early evening mojito - and we were happy with the kitchen as it allowed us to cook and utilise the supermarket (2.5 blocks away approximately) and the wonderful Smorgasburg market, held on Saturdays, and only about 10 mins walk. The East River ferry was a great option to travel into Manhattan - although we barely left Brooklyn to be honest. We quickly got addicted to the local restaurants, the awesome vibe and the local characters (especially the wee man who danced to Cuban music on his ghetto blaster on the street corner in the evenings) The apartment was well cared for and clean - great to have the on-site laundry too. My only suggestion? A pair of bikes available for guest use - it would be so cool to explore Brooklyn the way the locals do! Thanks Daniel - we would love to come back.

THE DESCRIPTION: This is for a PRIVATE apt in the East Village ideal for a couple, single or small family with 1-2 children. This can work for a couple with a single or another couple or kids on the sofa bed, but I suggest looking at my other 2 or 3 bedroom listings if you're 3 or more people.

All who stay will experience living in a fantastic apartment in NYC while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are located in the heart of the tourist frenzy areas in midtown. It's new, very clean and is in a great location, being only 2 minute walk to subway or less than a minute to a bus stop.

The apartment has a large bedroom, full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen and living room with sofa (pull out bed), HD TV, WiFi and includes breakfast items. This apartment is on the 3rd floor of a modern, elevator building which faces South (sunny and bright, with excellent breezy ventilation or A/C) and is across the street from a school, so it's quiet at night and in the mornings on weekends!

Prices (USD), not including Roomorama fees (and I apologize to Roomorama, as there is no section or not possible to list various pricing):

$ 200 / night single or double occupancy . Extra people charge is $ 30/night per person.

Stays less than 5 nights are $ 225 night (Mon-Thurs) and $ $ 250/night on weekends (Fri,Sat,Sun), plus extra people charges.
There is a $ 250 security deposit which you will get back at check out, unless there are damaged / missing items or if my apartment smells like cigarettes!

Prices may vary due to other circumstances as well. During summer months (May through September), the minimum stay is 3 nights (on weekends). I will occasionally book 1 or 2 night stays if they add or it precedes or adds to an existing reservation.

The unit has a fully stocked kitchen: full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas stove/oven, microwave, top of the line stainless cookware, utensils, dishware, glassware and a full bathroom with a tub.

However, if you're tired, really lazy or too hungover to do anything, just pick up the phone and call room service! I have a drawer full of menus from the local grub spots that can soothe any appetite and be delivered right to the door.

There is a laundry room in the basement if you feel like doing laundry, or a dry cleaner half a block away.

The Building and Neighborhood: This building complex has 12 units, mostly 2 bedrooms, and there are 2 apartments on each floor.

LOCATION:

2 minute walk to subway (L Train)
1 minute walk to Bus (M15)
10 minute walk to Union Square (every single subway is accessible from)
20-30 minute walk to midtown (Empire State Building, Times Square, Madison Square Garden)

This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order room service and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight) as there are plenty of menus from all the nearby food establishments. These little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places as well. There are at least three 24/hr places to get food within 2 blocks and about 50 restaurant/bars/cafes and shopping within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) 2 blocks away the East River waterfront park about 5 streets/blocks to the east.

For additional fees, I can be your personal tour guide to all the tourist attractions in NYC or Long Island. At no additional charge, I'm happy to recommend the cool, not-in-the-guide-books places for nightlife or dinner or anything else you may seek while in NYC!

ADDITIONAL INFO / CHARGES:

For stays of more than 7 nights, a small deposit may be required pending on length of requested stay.

The bedroom is for a single person or couple. There is a sofa that pulls out into bed (full size and actually quite comfortable!). Additional guests more than 2 are $ 30 per person per night. Maximum is 4 adults or 5 if small children as I have an air mattress as well. My place is kid friendly and can provide a pack and play (crib type) and small air mattresses for the little ones.

Cleaning charges: NO EXTRA CHARGE for up to 7 nights. Stays more than 7 nights are $ 60 which you will pay directly to house cleaner who will come and clean apt and do laundry (towels + sheets) once per week (Mon or Tues).

Linens: Clean when you arrive.

Towels: Clean when you arrive.

Breakfast: Included in price, to help start your days. Coffee, Tea, Juice, Pastries or Bagels or Cereal, milk or whatever else you want! I'll take your breakfast order after you book your stay.
