Great rental home on a beautiful island. It feels secluded without being too far away from anything.
The home has everything you could want to enjoy a vacation.
I was looking for a house description of do's and don'ts or what we could use and what not to use.
We couldn't find the turn off for the air conditioner for awhile until our daughter found it behind a painting on the wall.
All of the family members of every age were so happy and had a wonderful time.
The grandkids loved going to Olympia for Grandpa's Icecream. Thank you for ALL!!!!
10 colleagues used Ospreyland as the setting for a two-day work retreat. This spacious and comfortable home was perfect for a group this size to gather (large group work, with spaces for break-out meetings). We rented the entire structure to take advantage of the additional sleeping accommodations in the lower level. The large and well-equipped kitchen made meal preparation easy and efficient and we were able to all fit around the dining room table when an extension leaf was discovered. The setting is beautiful --- surrounded by tall trees, you might feel quite isolated, but the property is at the end of a cul-de-sac with neighbors not too far away. From Seattle, including the ferry, it took less than two hours, door-to-door. The owners are very responsive to requests.
This beautiful and well-maintained home nestled in the trees is a delightful place to spend your vacation. We stayed a week and since we are from the city, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The house itself was easy to live in and provided more amenities than we could possibly use in a week's time. Our main idea was to have a location near our relatives and it worked out perfectly. We enjoy the outdoor life on the island of hiking and boating, but could have enjoyed more if we had the time. We are from California and love the lush green vegetation on the island and the blue water locations for taking photographs. This home was centrally located for us and gave us opportunities to explore all around the island, though you do need a car for transportation. We enjoyed coming home each day to "our home" and it became a good fit for us. We all could find a quiet place if need be. The downstairs apartment was perfect for our son and wife and one year old granddaughter where she slept perfectly without other noises or distractions. The kitchen area was unbelievably large and there were so many places to sit and eat to meet all our needs. The house was extremely clean and neat and there was a large supply of extra bedding if someone needed an extra blanket or towel. The kitchen was easy to use and seemed to have every cooking utensil or implement you could possibly need. We brought our own food and ingredients for meals, though the island store is conveniently located to this home. The owner was available for any questions and when I emailed him, he responded immediately. We needed a place with a lot of options to accommodate 3 generations of family members and this place worked perfectly for us. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a large house rental. If I came again, I would probably not need the whole house rental as there were plenty of rooms upstairs. The laundry room is in the basement and my daughter did a load of laundry, but we had come prepared to not use it. The basement area would be great if you have a lot of young people as there are 3 bunk beds and a rec area and their own bathroom with a shower. The murphy bed on the first floor is comfortable and is in a room where you can close both doors for privacy. The single sleep sofa/futon bed is also in a small room where you can close the door for privacy. The owner was very easy to work with. We had a great vacation!
Nice back yard and fire pit. Back of the house has a secluded 'in the woods' feel, despite being on cul-de-sac near other homes. Wonderful master suite.
Taking the ferry to Anderson Island set a wonderful tone for the weekend. The house was so clean and bright despite the overcast weather. There was plenty of room for the adults to sit and talk in quiet while the kids played air hockey and watched DVDs downstairs. We cooked all of our meals at the house and loved the large kitchen. We went down to the marina and the ferry dock to look for crabs and starfish. We hiked part of "Andy's Hike" but there was a lot of stinging nettle crowding the trail so we turned around. There is a little park with a swimming area that was perfect for every age; swings, picnic tables, shade, grass area for soccer, small little beach area easy for launching the canoe we brought and bathrooms. I would recommend this rental to everyone, just bring over your own food because the little general store on the island is very expensive.
