We travel every winter for our business to Italy and have had all types of experiences in apartment rentals. Nothing compares to Laura's apartment. It is absolute perfection, so tastefully decorated, updated appliances, yet still retains the authentic old world charm romance. The pictures do not really do the apartment justice--it is a place of beauty. Laura was always prompt in questions and was always a quick email away while we were there. Her beautiful daughter let us in and showed us the apartment. We really appreciated the detailed instructions (with pictures!) of all the appliances, heat, etc. The 10 nights we stayed flew by and we were so sad to say goodbye to this little slice of heaven. The neighborhood itself is our favorite area to stay in Florence. Away from tourists and you get a true sense of the real feel of Florence---yet just minutes on foot to all the major sites. Don't miss the Farmers Market each Sunday at Santo Spirito! As for us we have found our new home away from home.
We stayed for a week in this lovely apartment and enjoyed it so much! The apartment is really cozy, clean, well-equipped and well-maintained. The apartment's location is superb. Many main attractions in the city are within walking distance. In short, this apartment matches the descriptions provided.
Last but not least, the owner took a good care of us (thank you!)
This apartment is lovely and very clean. Laura and Fulvio are great landlords and were very helpful to us. The apartment was well equipped with everything needed for our stay. The apartment is located in a very quiet neighborhood but within easy walking distance of all the sites. We had just completed a week in a downtown apartment in Rio Maggorie so we appreciated the quiet of this apartment. Be sure to visit the shops of the many craftsmen in this area. There are also many great restaurants with a few minutes’ walk of the apartment. The only caution I would have is the one flight of stairs are quite steep by US standards. They were easily doable by the two of us in our mid sixties with no luggage. They are a little more of a challenge with luggage particularly on the way up. We were fortunate that Fulvio was able to help us on the way up when we arrived and we were able to mange ourselves on the way down. I should point out that these stairs were no worse than those in the appartment we had just stayed at in Rio Maggorie the previous week. I would still strongly recommend this apartment to others and would stay here again if our travels brought us back to Florence.
Laura's apartment is quaint, honey and perfectly located. Santo Spirito neighbohood is just the kind of vibe we were loooking for, where else can you find an artisan violin maker, a pelletteria, merlas, antique stores, a market and a pletura of restaurants and cafes. Santo Spirito !!
Thanks Laura for letting us to stay an extra nigh. We will stay no less than 5 nights next trip.
That's just what we need to explore all directions from apt.
There are 2 more people out in the world who have been made happier by stay into your adorable apt.
We have been all over Europe for the last six weeks and this was definitely the best apartment of our trip !
Excellent location and facilities, and very charming.
We will definitely be back
Thank you so much
Laura's apartment in Florence was perfect for our weeklong stay in the city. Everything was as advertised and Laura was great to work with. We had space to spread out in a comfortable and authentic Florentine apartment. We slept well and enjoyed the view into the courtyard. All the homey details helped us feel like it was our own home, just the way I wanted to feel. In the Santo Spirito neighborhood we felt like we were true residents, shopping among the many small shops and trying many of the restaurants and cafes, yet it's only a quick walk to all the major attractions. We highly recommend Laura's apartment!
We have been fortunate enough to return to Laura and Fulvio's apartment for the second time. (See review posted April 27. 2011.) As our first experience was so enjoyable, we arranged to stay for 2 months this time -January and February, 2012.
1) Location. this apartment is just far enough away form the centre, in a "real" part of Firenze. Wonderful local shopping for fresh ingredients for cooking in. Many interesting restaurants in the Piazza Santo Spirito.
2) A warm, well-equipped, quiet apartment.
3) Totally efficient, totally charming hosts.
Thank you, Laura and Fulvio for a repeat visit in your paradise of cities.
A la prossima!
Con affetto, Douglas and David
We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a trip to London, Paris and Florence and Florence was our favorite stop in no small part because of this wonderful apartment. The location is perfect for exploring the city - convenient by foot to all the sites, shopping and so many restaurants. The city can be alittle confusing (so many narrow streets) but we were so close to the piazza and the church, it made a great wayfinding landmark. The apartment is furnished comfortably and while cozy, it is laid out in a way that makes it feel spacious (we have stayed in larger places that felt much smaller.) I will say that the stairs to the apartment are steep - this is not for someone who has difficulty walking (or much luggage.)
Laura and her husband gave us a wonderful tour of the facilities and how to "work" everything; they have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant. Our teen son said the sofa bed was one of the best he has ever slept on. Best of all, she was so easy to work with and responsive to questions as we planned this trip. I highly recommend this apartment when staying in Florence.
From our initial contact with Laura she was prompt and very helpful ,on the day of our arrival she was punctual and welcoming .The apt is clean and very comfortable ,the kitchen is very well equipped and everything in working order Our son and daughter in law found the sofa bed very comfortable while we -the parents /in laws found the double bed luxurious ! We spent 7 glorious days in Forence during this time we visited Pisa ,Sienna and San Gimigano missed out on Lucca 1hour 30 mins from Florence by train -top of the list for our next visit . . do not waste money on the organised tours they are organised for the company and not the customer , rail serviceexcellent bus service very good just allow extra time for you r journey .Firenze card ESSENTIAL i you are visiting museums.W e found some very good and inexpensive restauraunts around the corner in Piazza S.Spirito Osteria Santo Spirito good food, good ambience and brilliant staff friendly, ,efficient and honest,This is THE spot for sunday lunch after you browse through the market . There are lots of restaurants ,supermarkets ,and bakeries in the area ,after a long day sightseeing everything you need is on your doorstep !Try to include a trip to Fiesole, number 7 bus from Piazza San Marco , the bus departs from round the corner just to add a bit of intrigue to the sheer delight of this trip !! Florence has the history ,Fiesole has the sheer beauty and the history spend the last day of you r visit here and you really will feel like you are in paradise .
This is a real gem of an apartment ,it is ideally placed and very comfortable ,but the real gem is Laura ,her apartment is a real home from home for her guests .
My friend and I stayed at this wonderful apt for 4 nights and we were so sad to leave. Nothing could have been better for our stay, the kitchen was very well equipted, the beds very comfortable, shower had lots of pressure and hot water. The location was perfect. I am carrying on because I really want people to stay at Laura's apt to do themselves and her a favor. I am a rental property manager in the Virgin Islands and I thought I did a good job for my guests until I stayed at her place. She has helped me to see that I can turn up the service much more, thanks Laura. You and your husband deserve alot of credit. I hope you come to the VI one day so I can return the generosity.
Much success and health to you both.
My husband and I spend three nights here in July 2011. We absolutely fell in love with this apartment! It is beautifully constructed and furnished with an old world charm. Great view of Florentine homes and gardens from the kitchen windows. The owner, Laura, is very welcoming and very professional with prompt emails and detailed instruction of how to get to the apartment, and how to use all the equipment in the apartment. The best part of this apartment is the location- it's on the south side of the Arno river. This means that you are actually living in an authentic neighborhood in Florence, with great cafes and restaurants nearby, and AWAY from most of the tourists! It is also a very short walk (a pleasant 15 minutes) to all the shopping, museums, churches, etc. We couldn't stop raving about how much we lucked out by finding this place to stay. This was not a downside for us at all (since we are used to staying in older European apartment buildings), but there are some steep stairs to climb- only two flights- and with luggage it is perhaps an annoyance for some people. Overall, this charming apartment was a beautiful and welcome refuge for our stay in Florence.
My daughters and I stayed in this charming, immaculate and quiet apartment for 3 nights. We hated to leave Florence and our comfortable home away from home. Laura and Fulvio have thought of everything. There are detailed instructions for all appliances and thoughtful snacks were provided on arrival. The whole process from rental inquiries to check out was flawless. We did indeed feel "Welcome". The photos and descriptions on the "Home Away" web site accurately reflect the property. The location is very convenient, yet quiet. I will certainly recommend this apartment to friends.
We stayed in Laura's apartment from June 20-25, 2011. The apartment was very spacious for two adults and two older teenagers (18 &19). The kitchen was a delight to have. We walked to the local grocery store and filled the refridgerator with food for breakfast and a few dinners. Everything that was needed for cooking was supplied. We used the microwave, coffe maker, toaster, stove, washing machine, etc., and everything was in top working order.
The apartment is located in a quiet, out of the "tourist" area but was very convenient to all the sights and museums. We walked to the Accademia, Uffizi, Medici Chapels, Piazza Michaelangelo, the Duomo, etc., with no problems. The Pitti Palace and the Ponte Vecchio were less than a 5 minute walk. The ambiance of the apartment is oldtime Florence and not 21st century Florence, although you have Wi-Fi, flat screen tv, cd player, etc. Laura has done delightful job with the decorating and feel of the apartment.
Upon our arrival, Laura met us and went through all the specifics and operation of many items in the apartment. She was delightful and even had a wonderful welcoming gift of wine, pasta and candy waiting for us.
We would absolutely stay in this apartment again and have already recommended it to other friends with plans of visiting Florence.
I hope Laura comes to visit Tampa in the future so that we may show our gratitude to her in our city. Laura, thank you for such a wonderful stay in Florence and providing us with your charming apartment.

This was our first apartment rental experience and I can say that it exceed my expectation! My husband and I stayed for a week and had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The location couldn't be any better, and the amenities are excellent. We didn't have a chance to meet Laura or Fulvio in person but when we had a questions or issues, they are an email away and they will help you in anyway they can and fix things right away. Thank you so much!
We were fortunate to stay in Laura and Fulvio's
apartment for 5 weeks. It very quickly felt like
home. Laura and Fulvio were both professional and
gracious hosts. It is our hope to return.
