Our lovely 4-star graded, 2-bedroom Balfour Apartment, is within Pilrig House - an A-Listed, 17th-century Scottish Townhouse (built 1638), which has a distinguished history & wonderful literary connection with Robert Louis Stevenson; it was his mother's family's home - as a child, RLS often visited and played in the gardens here - he mentions Pilrig House in his novels Kidnapped and Catriona.
The apartment is uniquely located in a tranquil park, yet is only a 15-20 minute stroll (a mile), or 5 minutes by bus (bus-stop within 5 mins' walk of the house) to Edinburgh city centre and all the main attractions. It is also within walking distance of the 'Shore' area of Leith - on Edinburgh's waterfont, where The Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed - and also a trendy dining spot with Edinburgh residents.

The apartment is situated on the ground floor of the building and offers clean and comfortable accommodation for up to 4 people at very reasonable rates – it also offers a private garage parking space for 1 car. The rooms open off a large central hall way and include:
A well equipped modern kitchen with wooden flooring, offers a high level electric double oven and gas hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher, and a washer dryer, there is plenty of cook ware, glass, cutlery and china, making preparing a meal in the apartment is convenient and easy.
Next door is the spacious living/dining room with a large bay window. The room is simply furnished with a sofa bed and arm chairs, a TV and DVD Player and a selection of books for the use of visitors. There is a large wooden dining table with seating for up to 6 people.
The two double bedrooms are next to one another and have a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Each room is furnished with a double beds and offers good wardrobe space.
The bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC.
