Views of Boston Harbor
Located in Jeffries Point, East Boston. East Boston is one of Boston's mostly residential areas that maintains a genuine neighborhood atmosphere. Walk to side entrance of Logan Airport. Walk to Boston Harbor walkway and to Piers Park. Piers Park i …
We had a fantastic stay at this apartment, the location was good with plenty of amenities nearby and we enjoyed the 10 min walk to the T station which is only 1 stop from the waterfront area of boston. Very clean and good condition with plenty of helpful extras such as restaurant recommendations, washing powder for the machine, etc. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cooking implements so, even though we didn't choose to, cooking would have been a breeze. The two bathrooms were a big plus for us, it was great to have a bathrrom per bedroom and it was nice to have a deck on both floors too.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone travelling to boston, the proximity to the airport made the initial finding of it a bit tricky but we got around that by putting maverick square in the satnav as a 'via'. The neighbourhood is friendly and easy to find your way around. I was pleased to have found this rental when I booked and it did not disappoint in any way.
Just a brief note to say how much we enjoyed staying in Frank and Margot’s East Boston apartment. The descriptions given on the website are accurate and the apartment was very clean, well equipped, and in a good location.
The walk to the T stop is quite easy and there are a few smaller shops near it suitable for most requirements. The larger supermarket (Shaw’s - 246 Border Street) is a bit further away – probably a car or taxi ride back when loaded with purchases. Travel to downtown Boston by T takes ~ 25-30 minutes door to door.
Logan airport is very close (take the free airport shuttle stop at the Boat Dock / Hyatt and walk round the inlet), but noise from the planes is not an issue. Logan was ideal for car hire – all companies are represented – take a shuttle bus from any terminal.
The two decks are an excellent feature of the apartment – we had breakfast on the sun drenched deck most days. There was ample space for a grown up family of four adults, and plenty of things to do in and around Boston for our week vacation. We particularly chose this apartment as secure off-street parking was available – driving to and from East Boston was comparatively simple with a Sat Nav.
Finally. Frank and Margot were excellent hosts, always available and helpful, but never intrusive.
What a wonderful vacation we had in this excellent apartment. The decsription was spot on - it was spacious, extremely well equipped, clean and in a safe and convenient location. We booked the two bedroom option both of which had bathrooms. The two storey balconies overlooked the waterfront and we spent many happy hours enjoying the view. The apartment is within walking distance of the airport but we did not find any problem at all with aircraft noise - in fact we enjoyed spotting the aircraft as they landed/took off! There were a number of small convenience stores within easy walking distance and a very good little cafe serving pizzas to order as well as a number of other good dishes. The tube station was less than 10 minutes walk away and just one stop took you on to the main waterfornt - tip - buy a $15 card for the underground which gives you unlimited travel for 7 days - brilliant value. We loved Boston and found it very easy to walk and take in all the sights - and shops!! We spent a day at Cape Cod which was amazing and a day at Wrentham Village Outlet which is about a 50 minute run and worth a visit for the shopaholics. The apartment comes with a parking space which is a great bonus. We loved Quincy Market - just off the waterfront in Boston - a staggering array of food and aromas fill the air - well worth a visit!
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment and its excellent owners to future users - Frank and Margo -Thank you for all your help and advice.
My husband and I, and two friends stayed here for a week at the end of a touring hilday in New England. All of the arrangements were handled very efficiently, and the apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We did not find any problem with privacy in the screened downstairs bedroom - and liked the quirky upstairs /downstairs arrangement of the apartment. The apartment was comfortable walking distance to the "T" (metro), and the off-street parking was both convenient and secure.
Frank and Margo, the owners could not have been more helpful, and are obviously concerned that their guests enjoy their stay.
Scups restaurant around the corner in the harbour (shipyard) was very friendly and the food was good. The stark interior and the single long table was certainly different but quite charming. D´Parma Italian restaurant near the metro was also very friendly, and the food was excellent value and quality.
With regard to the comments made by other reviewers about airport noise, we did not find this to be a problem, as the planes do not fly overnight - our only regret was that we were not flying home from Boston!
As we were there for a week, we used the apartment as a base to travel north and south as well as to see Boston, and despite a few wrong turns (even with the GPS!) we always got to wherever we wanted to from the apartment! It was however, great to be able to securely park the car some days, or in an evening, and travel by public transport into Boston.
We loved Boston, and would not hesitate to stay here again, should we return
Great experience, we would definitely do it again, and would like to try the owner’s Cape Cod rental. Having never been to "East Boston", we were a little nervous about the area, but also found it to be exactly as depicted. It is a family neighborhood with beautiful parks. We stayed in the two bedroom unit and it was perfect for preparing and enjoying family meals. The floor plan afforded plenty of privacy and the separate A/C units made it comfortable for both couples.
Myself and two colleagues stayed in this apartment last week. We rented both the one bed apartment and the two bed apartment so we all had a bedroom each and a private bathroom each. It was absolutely perfect for us.
We had the opportunity to be together in the evenings on the deck and enjoy the harbour view, and then we had our privacy.
It was great to be in East Boston, it really felt like going home at the end of a very busy day. We found East Boston to be a very lively neighbourhood and it was great to get a flavour of it. So much better than being stuck in a downtown faceless hotel.
The T subway was very convenient, only a 10 min walk and it gets you everywhere you want to be. Also extremely convenient for the airport, so no costly taxi's to get you there.
The landlord cannot be faulted for swift correspondence, extremely helpful information and for being completely flexible.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to any friend or colleague and should my work return me to Boston again this will be my first choice - also would be perfect for a vacation.
There are some great restaurants in the area, grocery stores etc. It really has everything you need close at hand - who needs the expense of being downtown.
Thanks for having us - it was a pleasure!
We were very pleased w/our choice for rental in Boston.
1st time we stayed in rental property. Everything we
needed was there.....we came in for our daughter's wedding. Our son & daughter-in law stayed w/us so
the layout was great. We each had our privacy. We will
come back for future stays. Loved the view & walks along
the water. Neighbor was friendly & helpful. Thanks again
for making this place feel like 'our home away from home'.
Found this on the internet, after searching hotels and various other properties. It is EXACTLY as it is advertised...a wonderful find. It is a comfortable 2 bedroom..2 level w/ a great view of the harbor. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The Cafe 303-w/i a 5 minute walk was excellent.
The apt is well furnished/comfortable w/ all the amenities of home.
It is a great value! Highly recommended.
The owner was responsive and very informative. We felt comfortable w/ the communications and found the apartment as instructed w/ easy, foolproof entry/exit instructions and a nice list of local hints and tips.
The airport is nearby and you can hear/see the planes, but they are NOT in my opinion a detraction from the overall setting and quality of the neighborhood and apartment.
I found this property on the Homeaway website and was pleasantly suprised by the quality. We being, two English couples sharing. It was nice to have the space and is well furnished, comfortable and has everything required.
It is a great base for discovering Boston, we had a bus timetable and the 'T' timetable and if we didn't want to venture any further, could have had an excellent holiday without car.
East Boston is very cosmopolitan and everyone is friendly. We made some good friends whilst there. There are several bars and restaurants that we frequented and never short of food or drink!
The only slight downside was the noise from the Airport and the privacy downstairs when sharing with others but would still recommend.
