Luxury apartment for 4 to 6 people on a monumental farm
The apartment is spacious and yet cosy and with an authentic look.
In the apartment are two double bedrooms, each with two excellent fresh, single box spring beds of 2.10 m. Eventually there is the possibility for 1 or 2 extra beds. The apartment …
A wonderful place to stay. We were in the Coach House which was bright, clean, sunny, and looked out over the farm, with swallows nesting under the eaves, and a lovely terrace outside on which to eat. Our three children (aged 14,14, and 10) thought it was marvellous, particularly our ten-year old son who was allowed to help on the farm, learning how to milk the cows, feed them, bring them in from the fields and, the undoubted highlight of the stay, drive a tractor. It was harvest time and we were also out in the fields as dusk as the wheat was being brought in, and had a real sense of what farming life was like.
The location was superb, close but not too close to a good supermarket and bakery (perhaps 300 metres), we rented bikes in the village, and cycled all over the place, with good nature reserves, nice villages, and the occasional small town all within easy and pleasant reach. Canoeing at Nieuwkoop thorugh the flooded polders was great fun (if easy to get lost...). Perhaps most striking was that on the last day we left on the bus (we didn't have a car and didn't need one, public transport being excellent), and within an hour were amazed to find ourselves in central Amsterdam, despite feeling for the whole holiday that we were in deepest rural Holland.
Gerard, the owner, whose grandfather originally bought the farm, made us feel wonderfully at home, and knew exactly how to make a small boy enjoy being on a farm!
The other families on the farm were very international (French, Italian, German) and obviously all enjoyed it a lot as well, and it didn't feel crowded, everyone having their own individual spaces.
Five-stars all round.
Escaped the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy a peaceful and comfortable holiday with family at the Sint Nicolaashoeve farm. Even though the farm is situated in a quiet town, everything you need is nearby -- a supermarket, bank and a few restaurants. We loved that we could explore the Netherlands, but return to the peacefulness of the farm each night.
The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in looked brand new and included modern appliances in the kitchen and a flat screen LCD TV. Very comfortable beds and a sofa in the living area.
Gerard has provided his guests with everything they need for a comfortable and efficient holiday. Numerous bikes and riding toys for adults and kids are provided. You can easily bike from the rear of the farm to one of the main bike paths through the area.
Gerard always greeted our family with a friendly smile and asked us about our holidays and how things are going. Our 3 young children were sad to leave at the end of our stay. They are already missing Jackie, the cows, bunnies and cats!
We were a family of 12, including 5 children, visiting from Australia, making use of 3 of the apartments. This was an ideal arrangement for a large family group, as we were all together, yet enjoyed the independence of separate apartments. It was very central for all the places we wanted to visit. The 5 children loved being shown how a Dutch farm works, as well as many happy hours on the bikes. The younger members couldn't believe you could just walk or ride to the local village, where everything you could possibly need was available to us. This is not possible in Australia! The apartments were excellent, with extremely comfortable beds. Only downside is that towels are considered an extra. Can't understand why? Thank you so much Gerard for giving us all the opportunity to experience the delights of a farm stay for a week in NL, for our sentimental journey back to the homeland of my husband and their father/grandfather.

A great place to stay ! Very clean and well equiped appartment. Proprietors are very friendly, and give precious advices.
Landscape is beautiful
Convenient commodities are just 200m from the farm.
There are although some bikes available.
It's a real farm in activity, with lot of animals (rabbit, cow, veal, dog, ...)
My son would have spent all his day there if we were not riding to cities or sites that are not far away (Amsterdam, Keukenhof)
In conclusion : we recommend this place !
We were a party of 5 staying in Gerard and Eveline`s apartment for 5 days in April 2013. Gerard welcomed us on our arrival and showed us over the accommodation which was as described online. Everything nice and clean and tidy. There is a selection of bikes that guests can use which covered all age groups. My grandchildren also found a new interest in Gerard`s dairy herd. There is also a recreation area for table tennis etc which they made good use of. The local supermarket is a short walk away in Nieuwveen which was handy .We were able to include a visit to the flower auction in Aalsmeer which is nearby. This is well worth a visit as was also the 2 visits we made to Keukenhof which was open during our stay. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay and found Gerard and Eveline very helpful.
We had a wonderful 12 day holiday at St Nicolaashoeve and received a very warm welcome from Gerard and Eveline, who were very friendly and helpful with every question and request. The location was fantastic in such a beautiful village with just the right amount of local facilities to make for a peaceful relaxing place to stay.
The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated and very spacious, a total pleasure. The beds were supercomfartable too which is always a bonus on holiday. The facilities such as the large games and play room and the washing and drying area were very useful.
Our children (10 and 11) enjoyed the games room and roaming around the farm playing with the kittens and Jackie, the friendly dog.
We would not hesitate to either recommend these apartments or visit again ourselves.
Thank you Gerard and Eveline
It was our fourth or fifth time in Holland and we particularly enjoyed the location of SintNicolaashoeve. Very close to different shops : supermarket, bike rental, baker... it was really nice not to need a car for the very usual shopping.
Great place to cycle, to reach the coast or to visit the greatest cities such as Haarlem, Gouda, Leyde... and Amsterdam of course (even if we didn't go this time) !
The appartment is equipped properly and is definitely very clean and very confortable. The small terrasse (South exposition) was really enjoyable. The only thing we suffered a bit at the beginning was the noise from the airport but the number of flights went down and we get used to. To conclude, Gerard and Evelyn are very kind people, what would expect more ?
Me and my family (4 children) spent one week at this farm and enjoyed it very much. The owners are good, helpful and honest. The farm is located close to amsterdam and to other places of interst and nearby there are shops where we could get all we needed. the appartment itself was comfortable and the kitches well equipt. Our appartment it situated at the back of the cow shed so we could get the amell of it as well as milking the cows in the morning.
overwhole i recomend this farm.
