Wonderful Location In The Heart Of Old Town

The apartment is located on the first floor of a 3 unit building. It is has a lovely open layout with hardwood floors in the living area. There is a comfortable couch that folds out into a 2 person bed if needed. The bedroom is carpeted with a bra …

This home is truly adorable and perfect for a stay while in Chicago. Quaint tree lined street, two blocks from the main area in Old Chicago. Very safe area. My family of four were able to get to Michigan Ave in minutes with a cab fair less than $10. Gina was extremely friendly and professional and the first floor "apartment" was nicer than the pictures show. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Chicago. Hardwoods, new towels, sheets, very clean. The walk to Lake Michigan was less than fifteen minutes and the kids had a great time enjoying the lake. Thank you Gina for providing our family with a great Labor day visit to Chicago!
I'm a Chicago native who now lives a couple of states away. So when I saw this property in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood on VRBO, I knew it would be close to everything, whether on foot or using the city's excellent transportation system. (We never used our car once!) Old Town is a safe and vibrant neighborhood, a great place to people watch, dine al fresco, catch a show at Second City, and shop at Chicago's most European grocery store, Treasure Island. The elevated train (the "El") is a couple of blocks away and took us to the Loop (downtown) and to Lakeview, another great neighborhood with tons of nightlife. During our 7-day stay, we went to the Chicago Cultural Center and Millenium Park, watched a Cubs game at Wrigley field, sunned and swam at North Ave. and Oak St. beaches, visited the Shedd Aquariun, Adler Planetariun, and Natural History Museum, hit many of the good pizza places (Giordano's, Pat's Pizza, etc.) and ate breakfast at Ann Sather, a Swedish restaurant known for great breakfasts. By the way 3-4 bus lines are within blocks of the apartment too. We never waited more than a few minutes even late into the night. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The building owners live upstairs and respect your privacy, but are readily accessible should you need them. I'm quite confident that there is not other place we'll stay the next time we visit Chicago. Most of us want our vacations to be perfect. This one, for us, was as close to perfect as it gets! Highly recommended.
