Beautiful modern loft close to Chicago attractions and McCormick Place

Beautiful modern loft close to McCormick Place and the Loop, plus many Chicago attractions.
Your home away from home in Chicago's South Loop. Beautiful timber ceilings/brick walls, tastefully decorated, steps away from McCormick Place, walking di …

This was the perfect location fo our trip - just outside of the main area but bus outside the front door that took you straight up S. Michigan Street and to the heart of the action (Bus #3 one block nroth went all the way to the Magnificent Mile) - lots of space to relax in the condo - very clean - everything you need to cook if you want, do laundry etc. For us the parking availability and in/out access was a HUGE bonus to store our car while we explored on foot and rollerblades Don was very helpful to set us up and available if we needed help. It was exactly what we needed.!
Around the corner from the west entrance to the McCormick Place Convention Center. Walking distance to Museum Campus (Shedd, Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium, Field Museum, Grant Park) and Chinatown (pick up water taxi here for alternate transport to downtown). Direct bus line to downtown. I felt far away and comfortable at the end of a long convention day in this well appointed condo. I was greeted by Don, the owner and if there were any questions I was encouraged to call. At my inquiry Don even supplied board games for us to play. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Chicago I would book this VRBO without hesitation. Thanks, Don
My wife and I spent a wonderful 6 days in Chicago. We stayed in this lovely condo which has been beautifully restored to a very high level. its a very good location for people without transport as its on a bus route which takes you straight into the centre of town. There are a number of good eating houses all within walking distance also a few stores for shopping. The owner Don was extremely helpful and always on hand if you needed some advice. All in all it was a great stay and we would thoroughly recommend staying here.
I attended the NFPA conference which notoriously books super early at the conference hotel. A friend suggested VRBO and the first place I called was this gem. Hundreds cheaper than any hotel close by and miles above them. I though based off the pictures that I was staying in a simple studio apartment, little did I know the place was bigger than my house, it was a shame my wife could not make the trip, it was huge, clean, comfortable. Secure parking in the building, short walk to some pretty great food and steps away from my conference. Whole Foods just a jaunt away to fill the fridge. Very good access to the Lakefront Trail, I brought my road bicycle and zipped the whole trail four of the five days I was there. I only wish the conference didn't rotate locations or I would book this place in advance every year. The owners were very friendly, close by if you need something but completely out of your hair. A wonderful experience.
Great place! Clean and comfortable. Restaurants aren't too far, bus outside the front door. Groceries are a bit of a walk but doable. Don was helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place!
Allow me to start off by saying that the pictures do NOT do this place justice! Upon walking in, we were surprised at how spacious the place was and took note of the contemporary decor! Don was a great host and the option for daily parking was a great add-on for a little extra! It's far enough away from the circle that you don't have to worry about a lot of traffic near the residence, but close enough to either walk (provided it's warm out), catch the train and/or bus to some of the sites and shopping plazas. I look forward to staying at this place every time I find myself in Chicago and highly recommend it to any traveler who's looking for a place to rest and relax but feel at home while away on vacation/business!
I was in Chicago for a class that took me all over the southside and the loop. This proved to be the perfect place to stay to access public transportation. The apartment had everything I needed and more and provided a peaceful place to return to each evening. I found it very relaxing and can think of nothing I would change. Our host was always available for questions and provided excellent information both things I would have found exploring the web and things I could not have. Should the opportunity arise I won't hesitate to stay in this apartment again. It will be my first choice for future trips.
Don was there to meet us and even provided us with a bottle of wine! The condo is beautiful and comfortable. It was perfect for my conference, McCormick was steps away. The bus stop is right across the street and my husband and daughter and I hopped on the 4 bus for a quick ride down Michigan to the Shedd. Enjoyed having a Trader Joe's nearby and being able to park in a secure garage and leave and come back as we wished. We had a two year old and she enjoyed the trip as well. Thanks again for a great stay!
The wonderful photos of this apartment do not do it sufficient justice: it is a little gem. The owners have excellent taste in contemporary decor in this classic warehouse conversion with high ceilings, polished wood floors, fully fitted kitchen, fireplace, comfortable furnishings, artwork on walls, etc. All the facilities and appliances you could need for a comfortable short (or a long) stay in Chicago are provided, including free wireless internet. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, inviting and warm. The bed - queen size, I think - is very comfortable. Bathroom facilities are functional and very clean. I was in Chicago for a conference and the location turned out to be excellent for access to central, downtown Chicago, either by taxi (frequently running up and down S. Michigan Ave), bus (ditto), or the Chinatown Red Line station, which is less than 10 minutes walk (about 5 blocks to the west). If you have a car, there is a designated space in the underground car park. The owner, Don, was very helpful with information about local amenities and shops and left a welcoming bottle of wine on arrival. TV's and DVD players are in the main living area and bedroom but no radio or stereo system: unless I missed it. A docking station for an iPod, for example, would have completed the entertainment provision; but this is a very minor quibble. I had an excellent time and I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying here again.
My husband and I visited Chicago for 9 nights in November during our visit to the US from the UK. We wanted to find somewhere that we could call home for the duration of our stay and this was it! We were greeted on arrival by the owner Don who showed us around the loft apartment. He was very knowledgable about the local area and was able to point out good restaurants and most importantly bus routes into the centre of Chicago. The apartment is in the listed Cadillac building on Motor Row, which has been beautifully renovated and although the rest of the area is still undergoing some modernisation we felt safe at all times. Rooms are beautiful, modern, well designed and comfortable ( exactly as pictured) and just what we needed after long days of shopping and sight seeing. We were a short walk from McCormick Place and perfectly situated for a stroll to Soldier Field to watch the Chicago Bears and to Kroll's Bar for other games. Buses run frequently ( about every 10 minutes) from outside the apartment to the centre of everything - taking no time at all! We used this apartment as a base to visit such places as Willie Dixon's blues haven (a short walk up Sth. Michigan ave), Buddy Guy's Legends, The Water Tower Plaza for shopping, Ditka's restaurant, Lou Mitchell's for breakfast, the Navy Pier and many other attractions.. All great experiences and all easily accessible by bus, taxi or by walking if you have comfortable shoes! I can't speak highly enough about this amazing apartment and location - I highly recommend, and we will no doubt visit again soon. :)
