Beautiful, safe two bed apartment V & A Waterfront Cape Town **** grading
This really is a stunning two bedroom (both en-suite) apartment set within the Waterfront at Cape Town. You can dine indoors or outdoors on the balcony which overlooks the canal. The granite surfaced kitchen has all mod-cons including washing ma …
Thank-you so much Trish and Steve for sharing your condo with us! It was a little difficult to chose a property so far from home and online, but Trish and Steve were so helpful and accommodating with all my questions. It was our first time to Cape Town and so far from home, but it was so worth the long journey! This condo is is very nice, clean, modern, spacious and has everything you need. It was perfect for our family of 4 adults. It is extremely quiet, but a short walk to all the action at the V&A. The view is so beautiful and peaceful, we really enjoyed the balcony and saw the fireworks on New Years Eve from it! You will not be disappointed renting this apartment. The parking for our car wasa perfect location, just outside the entrance to the unit which is a definite plus! It's very safe and secure with 24hr security guards. Excellent service from housekeeping and Village and Life staff! They even arranged for groceries to be there as we arrived very late at night. I just emailed them a list and paid on checkout. Wifi arranged via front desk, very reasonable rates. No local phone or landline which wasnt a problem... we bought a global calling card (for landline) and South African Vodacom SIM cards for our mobile phones (buy both at Pick-n-Pay at V&A Mall) which were very inexpensive especially for local calls. I could go on and on. One of our favorites was the new food markets they have at the V&A a must do.(there just 3 weeks) It has fresh local foods and all kinds of international foods, very inexpensive on 2 levels in a beautiful brick building. We ate lunch here almost every day. Red shed and Greenmarket Square in town for local African crafts, Bascule (gorgeous view of Table Mountain) at Cape Grace Hotel was our favorite hangout for drinks or tapas for dinner. Vista Bar at the One and Only for drinks and appetizers what a beautiful view! We will try to get back here again one day! Thanks again Trish and Steve! Best Regards, The Pompeo Family, Kim, Steve, Andrew and Stephanie. Boston, Ma. USA
This lovely apartment exceeded our expectations and our only complaint is that our 5-day stay there was not long enough! We had a full schedule and it would have been nice to have more chill-out time - sitting on the balcony in the sun, sipping a drink and watching life drift by on the water below.
The accommodation is well-equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher and much more. All the comforts of home, in fact. The beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels of a good quality. The daily maid service was an unexpected treat.
The apartment is also well located; an easy stroll along to the V&A Waterfront with all its shops and restaurants. The staff on the security gates were very friendly and helpful.
I don't think it is necessary to hire a car in Cape Town. The Red and Blue bus tours operate a get-on/get-off service so passengers can easily reach the many tourist attractions. We used PG Tops for our airport transfers - a small highly professional company with the personal touch and a wealth of local knowledge. We were so impressed with them that we booked two private one-day tours - to Cape Point and the other to the Winelands and visiting a cheetah sanctuary en route.
We would love to stay in this apartment again - and next time make use of the gym and pool. Thank you, Trish and Steve.
This apartment is in such a good location. Easy walk to the V&A Waterfront and into the city.
The apartment has all the amentities you need and was very comfortable. Includes a washing machine and dryer. The bathrooms were huge and included nice toiletries.
The secure parking was right next to the apartment on the same floor which was handy.
We used the pool just out front and was just the right size for a quick dip to cool off.
The reception staff were extremely helpful and stayed back late to wait for us to check in, they then personally showed us around the apartment. All the staff on site were very friendly and helpful.
This was an excellent apartment, which exceeded all expectations we had prior to arrival. The complex was very secure, the allocated parking convenient, and the onsite management very helpful. Excellent information sent out to us by Steve and Trish prior to departure, and a housekeeper popped in as well, which we weren't expecting.
The apartment itself had everything we needed (and more!) and was extremely comfortable with more than enough space for 4 adults. We had breakfast and a number of lunches on the balcony watching the world go by on the waterway which it overlooked, and the V&A was just a short stroll away for shopping, entertainment and evening meals.
I would thoroughly recommend this apartment for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy Cape Town, and we will definitely be keeping Steve and Trish's details to pass to friends and for ourselves in the future!
SORRY to anyone who wanted this apartment at the end of Feb 2012 as we have re booked following our stay in Feb/March 2011... a truly magnificent apartment with convenience everywhere, from parking to close pool, to V&A too the amazing bar at the One&Only which is a short canal stroll away.. the apartment has everything you could wish for... and thats why we are booking again. we have been visiting Cape Town and specifically the Waterfront for 8 years now and will be happy to book the same apartment for all future visits.
many thanks Steve and Trish for renting out your apartment.
Cape Town was amazing, such a wonderful holiday destination, there is something for everyone. We stayed 3 weeks and pretty much did it all, from White Shark Cage Diving, Wine Route touring, Robben Island, Boat rides, sightseeing and plenty of time at the beautiful beaches. A must see destination and a must return to place as well.
The apartment was perfectly situated, right in the middle of the waterfront action, but still quiet and peaceful. The assigned parking could not have been more convenient. The apartment had everything one could ask for as far as furnishing, the kitchen was very well equipped, beds very comfortable. It is modern and well appointed throughout. The daily housekeeping service was an addition bonus!
If we had our vacation to do all over again, we would do it exactly the same!
We have now been staying in this apartment for 6 weeks each year for the past four years, and it seems to get better as each year goes by.
Starting from the beginning, the check in process is calm and easy, with a good reception and warm welcome. The apartment is brilliantly located and even more so now that the new One and Only Hotel has been built within the complex. We now go there most nights for a cocktail before eating. Marvellous!
The more we go to Cape Town the more adventurous we have become and now always hire a car and visit nearby attractions, such as the Winelands etc. etc. We have a number of favourite restaurants both within the Waterfront and also in Cape Town itself. The new Cape Quarter is amazing.
The owners are very helpful and have always been happy to advise in any way they can.
We can't think of any negatives.
We are a family of 4 that stayed in this apartment for 5 nights in April 2010.
The booking process was very smooth and the arrival information given by the owners and the local management company was perfect.
The apartment is part of the Waterfront development and is therefore close to lots of shops, restaurants, hotels and the Cape Town aquarium. The development is also very secure with underground parking and manned entry points.
The apartment itself is very spacious and ideal for a family travelling with small children. There are all the facilities you could need including a washing machine and tumble dryer. The childrens channels on the satellite TV were particularly popular with our small kids who woke up early each morning.
The only downside to the apartment is that the Waterfront is not the most picturesque part of Cape Town. However the convenience, security and spaciousness of this accommodation was ideal for us and made for the perfect place to base ourselves in Cape Town.
We were so pleased to manage to book this apartment, as it had been recommended to us by friends, and it is all we hoped it could be - and more.
The location is superb, both for viewing the local areas such as the Winelands, but also just a ten minute stroll to the Waterfront and it's many bars, restaurants and shops.
The balcony was a delight - large enough to have two comfortable sun loungers and a dining table for six to eight. We spent many hours there (enjoying the fabulous wines from the local Vinyards). It is quiet at the apartment, and you feel very safe, but within close distance of so much activity. Also brilliant was the under cover parking beside the apartment.
I cannot recommend this highly enough.
