<p><span>This is a clean, quiet and comfortable home with spacious rooms and a large deck which overlooks the beautiful garden. The tall, magnificent rainforest trees make it unique and birds and butterflies are abundant. A hammock and sofa are provided for you to relax and read a book if you wish to take a break from sightseeing.</span></p>
<p><span>It is located in one of the older, established areas of Cairns on the southside of town 10-15 mins drive from the CBD and Marina. There is also a bus stop 7 mins walk away with buses available to the City. The home is well located to explore local waterfalls, Tablelands, beaches and other attractions the area has to offer. The driveway provides off road parking for cars.</span></p>
<p><span>I love hosting people and am happy to help you plan your trip. For years I worked in travel in Cairns so can give you advice on where to go and arrange discounts on reef trips. I have also started offering personalized tours for guests to the Tablelands and Cape Tribulation.</span></p>
<p><span>The house has 2 spacious bedrooms, an open plan lounge area, one toilet and a separate bathroom. There is a large fully equipped kitchen with gas top and electric oven. Guests like to eat outside on the verandah overlooking the rainforest garden or there are nice restaurants located nearby. You are welcome to cook for yourselves. There is also a TV, DVD player and music system available.</span></p>
<p><span>Continental breakfast is provided - tea, coffee, toast, jam, nutella and honey, muesli and weetbix.</span></p>
<p><span>Towels and linen are also provided. Wifi is free of charge.</span></p>
<p><span>Reiki treatments and Meditation are also available if you are interested.</span></p>

There is a lovely big back garden for children to play in which is fully fenced and private.Pet friendly for dogs, but not inside the house please.
The street is a quiet cul de sac and if you walk to the end, you can see wallabies (small kangaroos) grazing in the paddock in the evening. This home is fully air conditioned for our hot summer months and a solar hot water system provides you with masses of energy efficient hot water. Austar TV (satellite) and wireless Broadband internet connection are provided.
Wilks House is a 10 minute walk to Earlville shopping centre, a cinema complex and several restaurants. The city centre and the Esplanade's spectacular Lagoon is a 5 minute drive. This is a huge saltwater pool with life guards on duty and a shallow section for small children. Free exercises classes, water aerobics, and yoga are provided by the council at the Esplanade during the week. Birdwatching is a popular pastime along the boardwalk. The Cairns Botanical Gardens should not be missed for a fantastic display of tropical plants. There are many local attractions to keep you occupied during your stay in Cairns such as a trip to the Great Barrier Reef, visits to the Northern Beaches and Port Douglas, exploring the Daintree Rainforest, and drives around the beautiful Atherton Tablelands. We will meet you on arrival at the house to welcome you, show you around and hand over keys.
