Spectacular 3BD Home near San Telmo
This newly restored 90-year-old home still has its original aristocratic details, yet the bathrooms and kitchen have been renovated for modern standards. With a focus on comfort and coziness, it's the perfect place for a family or group of friends.

The Space
Tucked away on the quiet tree-lined street called Piedras is this remarkable three-bedroom home. From the street, walk up the stairs of the private entrance to the foyer (the first photograph). A gallery/hallway leads down from the living areas to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

The gallery is typical of upper middle class Argentine homes built in this era. Barracas, our neighborhood, is full of homes like these. They're not apartments, but they are also not single standing homes. They're called chorizo (sausage) style because they are long and narrow.

The three bedrooms each have doors that lead out onto the gallery. There are also doors between each room so that in winter months, when it's chilly out there, you can keep the French doors closed and move throughout the heated spaces.

There is a queen bed in the first room, a full in the second room, and a king or two twins in the master bedroom. Each bedroom has a powerful ceiling fan.

The master bathroom is finished in polished cement. It has a shower while the guest bathroom has an antique tub.

Details like the high ceilings, massive French doors, original tile floors and pine floors, beautiful iron work on the balconies, make this home special. And the decor fits perfectly with the vibe of the neighborhood. Unpretentious, relaxed, vintage, yet bold.

The kitchen in all its funky quirkiness is awesome. There is even a built-in pizza stone in the oven.

Throw open the balcony doors and live like a local in this lesser-known residential barrio just next to San Telmo. It's one of the prettiest areas of Buenos Aires.

Guest Access
There is a fourth bedroom upstairs and a small closet where we store tools and the like that is off limits. Everything else is available.

Interaction with Guests
Angela is splitting her time between New Orleans and Buenos Aires so if she is not there, so you'll be greeted by Grisel. We're both available for you and happy to help. You'll have our email addresses and phone numbers.

The Neighborhood
Barracas is not nearly as well known as its neighbor San Telmo and for many people that is a good thing.

It's one of the largest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires in terms of sheer square meters. As such, it's not easy to describe the entire barrio succinctly.

Our part is just one block away from San Telmo's most beautiful street, Caseros. This is the more quiet and local part of San Telmo and this part of Barracas is what many are claiming will be "the next it spot."

Ungentrified as of yet, you'll find fabulous parillas filled with locals (see 1880 on Defensa), vegetable vendors, flower shops, local butchers, small convenience stores, cheese shops and bakeries on Martin Garcia just four blocks from us. And on Avenida Caseros, you'll find four of the trendiest outdoor cafes in the city: Caseros, Hierbabuena, La Popular, and Club Social Delux.

Getting around
We provide you with a SUBE card that you can top off. The card can be used on buses, the subway, and the trains. We also have a local guide to the bus system which we'll teach you to use when you check-in. Buses are great in BA. They run 24 hours.

Taxis are very cheap compared to other places and you'll pretty much always find one when you need it.

When you book, we will send you directions to us from the airport (or other port of entry) and our thorough guide to Buenos Aires.
