Property was exactly as represented in photos. Easy to access, clean, spacious, lots of closets. Very clean and very safe. Pleasant location on clean quiet street. Owners most hospitable and responsive to any questions. Only suggestion would be to add small microwave in kitchen. (We wanted to reheat food we brought home in "doggie bags" and our coffees in the a.m.) We would recommend this spacious studio to a couple. Also want to confirm previous reviews that the bed (and futon) were extremely comfortable.

My husband and I found this vacation rental to be just right for our stay. We were within walking distance of most things we wanted to do in Brooklyn, and the owners were very friendly, accommodating and quick to respond to questions. Listing photos were accurate and the apt. was very clean and comfortable. The only somewhat negative observation was that the freezer compartment in the little refrigerator hadn't been defrosted in a LONG time - and the ice cube trays were completely frozen into place and unusable. Given how hot the weather was while we were there, access to ice cubes for a cold drink would have been nice. The AC worked very well, though. The apt. stayed comfortable. We would stay there again.

Spare but comfortable, clean, cool and well equipped, this studio apartment fits 2 people well. 4 would be a squeeze. It is very subway friendly and you can walk to DUMBO in 25 minutes and BAM in 15. Roman's Restaurant on De Kalb is superb.

My sister and I met up in NYC for a 5 day getaway and stayed in this apartment. The location is great! There are at least 3 subway stops, all within easy walking distance. We used the Nevins St station the most, for the 2,3,4, and 5 trains. The uptown entrance is right in front of Dunkin' Donuts, so it was easy to grab a coffee for the ride. We took cabs at night a couple of times because my sister was nervous, but I was fine with the subway at 1AM. In fact, I'm more nervous on my own street at home than I've ever been in NYC, and I live in a nice historic district. Anyway, cabs weren't that expensive. The bed is super comfortable - down mattress, down comforter... I slept like a rock, which was nice because we got in late and got up early every day. Mark has put together a nice binder with everything you need to know about the apartment and the area - cabs, subway, restaurants, laundry, shops, etc. I recommend looking through it upon arrival. He also had travel guides and maps available. He was very accommodating, especially with our early arrival and late departure flights. It was very clean and comfortable. We didn't get to meet him, but I turned the keys in to his wife as we left, and she was so nice! It seemed very important to her that we enjoyed our stay. If I make it back with my husband, we will definitely stay here! One note - it's a basement apartment, so if you are a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs. I think they watched an episode of "Breaking Bad" while I was there? I heard "Eisenberg!" through the floor. But I was more concerned with a spoiler than the noise because I haven't seen season 4 yet. :) And you're going to have noise in ANY apartment, so just pack earplugs if it bothers you. The only thing that could make this place better is a full-length mirror somewhere. I'm short. :)

My family just spent a few days at Mark's Studio and it is by far one of the best VRBO listings we've ever stayed in. We use VRBO frequently and have never encountered such hospitality and wealth of information that was provided by Mark and his family. Close to the subway (which was a breeze to figure out), shopping, and just a 15 minute walk to the Brooklyn Bridge and restaurants. Very clean and accommodating to families with children. Thanks again Mark!

I spent 3 nights in this studio apartment in Brooklyn. I was very, very pleased and would recommend it to anyone. If you would like more specifics - Pros: VERY quiet (no street noise, no upstairs noise after 10pm at the latest). This was probably my favorite part, as I have stayed in NYC many times, and the noise has always been an issue. But I didn't even need my ear plugs ONCE during this stay! The bed is extraordinarily comfortable. Soft, warm, cozy, large. Perfect bed. Better than any hotel I've stayed at. Spacious studio, with everything you need to independently go about your business. Easy access to all trains, subway lines, buses. plus lots of shops nearby. Great kitchen for those who prefer to make their own meals (which I do), plus a Trader Joe's and a commercial grocery store nearby. Love the area. If you're in reasonable shape, you can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan, which is an awesome little trek. Both Boerum Hill and adjacent Fort Greene are great neighborhoods. Cons: When the rain kicked in, it seemed that there were more ants than when it wasn't raining, but nothing more than what one would expect anywhere. No other bugs at all, though, so is that really a con? I'd take a few ants over cockroaches and/or spiders and/or silverfish any day. And I saw nothing but a few ants here and there after it started to rain. But I guess if you have an ant phobia, you should bring some Terra ant traps or something. It's a garden level studio, so if you're looking for a place with a lovely view of something, this isn't it. It's super close to plenty of lovely coffee shops, though (I loved BAM's cafe and Building on Bond). Boerum HIll is an eclectic mix of high-end/trendy and gritty urban. Again, I don't see this as a con, but if you're not used to this kind of a blend...well, then I guess I'd say stay out of the NYC area altogether. Just keep in mind that if you're from a rural area, outside NYC, and aren't used to a high level of diversity in an urban setting, you'll want to do most of your exploring by day. In summary, I would absolutely stay here again, no question. The family who owns the studio is a very busy one, so don't stay there expecting to have your own personal concierge service. It is great for singles and couples, in particular, and was a great place to stay during my business trip.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights recently. We travel to NYC fairly often (have probably been about 15 times) and decided to stay in Brooklyn on this trip since we had never spent much time there. We loved both Brooklyn and this charming apartment! To start with, the owner Mark is incredibly nice and accomodating. We didn't get a chance to meet him, but checking in and out couldn't have been easier. The apartment is equipped with everything you could possibly need (and a really comfy bed!) for a short or long stay. We loved the very charming and "neighborhoody" feel of Brooklyn. You are also surrounded by several different subway lines which make getting into Manhattan super easy. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and loved everything about this comfortable and clean studio apt. The location is perfect for getting into Manhattan or exploring Brooklyn. Mark and Laura are helpful and charming hosts. There is shopping close by and the neighborhood feels very safe. The bed is comfy, the air conditioning and wireless work great and everything you need for a fun time in the NYC area is right here. Parking on the street was a breeze. Subway is 3 blocks away. Easy to find from the BQE. Great restaurants nearby (we liked Rucola, General Greene and Flatbush Farm). What more can I say, this studio is just perfect.
