Charming & Spacious Brownstone Apartment, 3-minute walk to subway
Make this charming apartment your home away from home in Brooklyn! With a private entrance in our brownstone home, the apartment has old Brooklyn charm with modern comfort. Located on a quiet, tree-lined block that has won second place in the Gre …
We (2 adults, 2 girls, 12, 14, from Greece) stayed in this wonderful charming apartment for 1 week. It was very clean, spacious, light, quiet, ... - just wonderful!
The subway station is a 5 minutes walk through a nice street and a little park. Even coming home late at night we felt very safe. It took us 15 minutes to go to Soho and around 25 minutes to go to Grand Central Station.
Kate was always very helpful and she had a very useful little list with restaurants, supermarkets, laundries etc., which were all quite close by.
I would recommend it to all my friends, who prefer a casual way of holidays among locals than unpersonal hotels.
Kate, thanks for everything. When we'll have enough money, will come back.
it was a fantastic spacious and clean apartment in a very safe, beautiful and picturesque neighborhood. We (2 adults and 2 girls, 14,12, from Greece) spent there a week at the end of April. Easily we could take the subway to Manhattan at any time. Around 15 Min. to Soho and 25 Min. to Grand Central Station. Little supermarkets were close by and some very nice fancy restaurants. We enjoyed not being surrounded by thousands of tourists but being together with locals. Kate was very nice, helpful and patient and always willing of answering all my questions.
I would recommend it to all my friends, who like this kind of non-touristic and casual locations. Thanks Kate, we had a great time!
When we'll have enough money we'll surly come back.
Three days in this elegant, comfortable apartment wasn't enough. I wish I could have stayed there for a month. From the bedsheets to the kitchen utensils and eveyrthing in between, the rooms more than served my needs. The hosts were helpful and unobtrusive, the location much to my liking, whether for strolling around Brooklyn or catching the nearby subway into Manhattan. I recommend this very pleasant apartment highly.
My 2 teenage daughters and I recently stayed in this fantastic apartment rental in Brooklyn. They described the apartment as awesome and cozy and I agree completely. The photos accompanying this listing show a bright, cheerful and clean home and that is exactly what you'll find. You also get the added bonus of being able to experience Brooklyn brownstone living. The amount of space is pretty amazing and I enjoyed waking up in the morning to look out onto a quiet and wide Brooklyn street. Plus the owners have drawn up a neighborhood map listing the many eclectic cafes and restaurants that are very nearby. The first morning I walked out with the map and found myself having a wonderful cappuccino in a very special Italian restaurant that served breakfast and quality baked items. Another wonderful asset of this apartment is that the subway station is, in my daughters' opinions, only a 2-minutes walk from the apartment. Being an express stop, 'the A train', the subway trip into Manhattan is very easy and short. Also if you return late at night as we would, you'll find this station well used and many other riders will also be walking from the station in the same direction as the apartment. I highly recommend this rental for a perfect NYC stay and have already begun to tell my friends and family about our stay. As a traveler it's not often that you get an opportunity to experience a beautiful and well kept Brooklyn brownstone apartment and what can be more perfect then to access Manhattan with a quick and easy subway ride.
It is a nice stay... Very good located. Not so far of the subway. The owners kate and brian are friendly and very properly.
It is a good place for visiting nyc! It is a quiet neigborhood. 20 min from manhatten with the subway train a express.
New york city is fabulous!
My husband and I have stayed in Manhattan a couple of times and after staying at Kate and Brian's, we've been converted. As with all the other reviews, the apartment was well represented, very clean, convenient, spacious, well situated on the A train to access Manhattan (actually faster access to major sites in Manhattan by train than staying near central park as we have previously). Some details not mentioned in previous reviews was the great rainfall shower, high quality towels, great selection of books and hand drawn maps of the area. Definitely check out the recommended restaurants, Sangharia for Italian, Peaches, Liquid Oz and a newer cafe Manny (fabulous latte). Great food and atmosphere without breaking the bank-you don't feel like you're being gouged. The neighborhood is beautiful and interesting to stroll around. There were few if any tourists which made for a very authentic experience. Outside of this neighborhood -there are several Brooklyn neighborhoods worthy of exploring if you've seen enough of Manhattan or just want a break that are very unique and interesting - Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg, Park Slope, Carol Gardens even Greenpoint and many more. We would definitely recommend it and would stay here again next time we return to NY!
What a wonderful stay! The apartment was lovely, the neighborhood was great and our trip was fantastic. We took multiple trips into mid-town (which was an easy subway ride, no switches about 20 minutes), but found our favorite spots to be close to the apartment. We really enjoyed the wine bar, Italian Restaurant and our dinner at Peaches. We couldn't get the kids to pass up the small park on the way to the subway without some coaxing either!
The apartment was plenty big for our family of four, and our girls loved sleeping on the fold-out sofa in the living room. We will definitely be coming back to stay the next time we visit New York.
Thanks for a great place.
An excellent place to explore New York. The neigbourhood itself is charming and interesting; and with a few minutes walk to the subway downtown Manhattan is only half an hour away. We were very warmly welcomed by Kate and Brian. They gave valuable tips for exploring the surroundings. Staying there immediately gives you the feeling of living in NY. Our kids loved it.
It is now more that 1 year I stayed at Kate´s appartment and I definitely I would stay in again in the next opportunitty. The appartment was just like the pictures in the internet, clean, organized, had every little stuff (kitchen, bedroom and wc stuff) needed for a great and pleasant stay. Even more, Kate and her husband were extremely helpful in every detail you can think about. Just some examples I can rememer after 1 year: tips of the neighboorhood, subway map and other flyers, toys available for my 2 old little daughter (at that time), highchair, assistence to wash clothes if we needed. We arrived late in the evening and they were so kind in offering us great pasta with meatballs.
It is really close to the subway and in case you need to rent a car, it is possible to park it in the street in the same block of the appartment.
Safe neighboorhood. I would love to go back, now with my new one year old daughter ! I feel very comfortable in recommending this place !!
My friends and I had a great time in Brooklyn! We were warmly welcomed by Kate and Brian and they even left some beer/wine and noodles for us in the kitchen.
Both are really helpful, always ready to answer any questions we had.
The Italian restaurant ‘Saraghina’ recommended by them, was fantastic and we enjoyed a very good breakfast at ‘Liquid Oz’. Two great neighborhood spots.
It was really easy to get into Manhattan with the A train. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get into town.
We felt very comfortable and welcome in Bainbridge Street. Melanie will definitely miss her first morning cup of coffee sitting on the front stairs, where she enjoyed the sun.
Thanks to Kate and Brian for a lovely week!
Melanie, Marc and Nadja
