Our family rented this lovely beach cottage to celebrate my granparents' joint birthday over the Labor Day Weekend. The property was conveniently located, whether you take the ferry across the water from Seattle....or drove around the sound, like we did. What a pleasant surprise to see that the house was situated right on the water! What better way to start the day than with a cup of coffee on the deck, enjoying beautiful, unobstucted water views? The owners did a wonderful job decorating the cottage. I especially loved the use of chandeliers and glass touches throughout the house. It was very clean upon arrival, with plenty of room, a stocked kitchen, large bathroom, and laundry room. NOTE: Bring your own toiletries :) There is a grocery store located within a mile from the house, which was convenient if we forgot any groceries or needed to stock up on wine :) My boyfriend and I had so much fun, and we will definitely be back for a staycation away from the city. For future renters, I would recommend waking up early in the morning and taking a walk on the beach (low tide in the morning). Take advantage of the front deck to enjoy the views and the sun!
Early morning fog Floating on the bay The sound of gulls exploring As they welcome the new day Heron perches on a rock Seals flaunt their charms Jellyfish float gently by Starfish stretch their arms Soft waves lap against the wall Sunset colors glow The light upon the water Sharing mysteries below Peaceful silence fills the air Worries drift away Now carefree hearts are grateful For this lovely place to stay
We don't want to leave. This cottage is charming and peaceful. We all loved it most especially your responsiveness and the scenery. We couldn't have asked for a better place to vacation. We will be back. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My 2 girlfriends and I just came back from a wonderful stay at the little cottage at the end of the point. We had great time and the cottage was perfect for our girl's getaway. We loved the patio and ate all of our meals outside enjoying the view. If you're looking or a great little getaway on the water, then this place is perfect. Highly recommend! Thx Mike & Rachel for sharing your cottage! We enjoyed our stay!
I can't say enough about this adorable little cottage on the water. I was seeking peace and relaxation from an intensely busy life, and I found it. The cottage is adorable! I wonder about it's history, as it's clearly an older building that has been beautifully restored. It's right on the water, with a rocky beach at low tide, and water right up against the building at high tide. In response to other comments.... yes, the ceilings are low. I'm 6' tall and I joked to a friend that I felt like Gandalf in a hobbit house.. but not low enough that I was hitting my head. There are three separate bedrooms, very small but completely separate from each other. The place is compact, small, but with all the windows and water around, it doesn't feel too small. Everything I could need was provided, down to good reliable high speed internet. I was able to stay connected and even play my favorite MMOs while watching the tide roll in. Because the cottage sits further out onto the point than neighboring houses, it feels private, isolated.. and I was able to forget the outside world existed. Totally perfect week for me. I was a stressed out girl totally overworked and at my limit when I arrived.. and after a week in this cottage, I am relaxed, mellow, and ready to take on the world again. When I find another week that I can take a vacation, I won't even look anywhere else. This is my go-to place for a runaway vacation, and I will definitely be back. Thank you...this was exactly what I desperately needed.
My son and I had a wonderful experience staying at the End of the Point. The cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated cottage is the perfect setting. It was relaxing and fun. We rented kayaks and enjoyed the great firework display the neighbors provided. Definitely will be returning.
Our second time in the area and it was very nice. My wife, 16 year old daughter and I really enjoyed the peaceful, clean, nicely decorated cottage. The best part for me was the flood light at night, I had no idea there was so much life in that little area. My daughter loved the corner room, soft chair, reading or on her laptop socializing with the windows open. My wife loved the front couch, reading, playing her little cell phone games and relaxing. There is so much to do in the area and Seattle was a quick ferry ride away.
I stayed at this beautiful place until April 24. The owners are fabulous, pleasant, courteous, and respectful of privacy. More than that,y are always available and responsive. Great retreat after a long day of work. The silence is a halcyon. The view from inside is mesmerizing. My wife visited occasionally and loved the place. If you want to escape, you have found the place. The solitude is reinvigorating. Try it. I plan to return soon.
My husband and I stayed in the cabin over New Year's Eve and Day. I have conflicting feelings about our stay. PRO: Right on the water, beautiful view as advertised. We really liked the flood light out the front of the cabin, overlooking the water. You could see right to the bottom of the bay, and I imagine it would be terrific to watch crabs, squid, etc. move about in the water. The decor was appealing. Bathroom was very nice. CON: This cabin is built incredibly SHORT. My husband is tall, and so am I, and we spent most of the time hunched over while walking around. I never thought to ask how high the doorways and ceilings were (who would?), but after my husband cracked his head the second time, we decided it wasn't worth the effort, and left a day early. The 3 bedrooms advertised are actually 1 bedroom with a wooden screen partially separating a queen bed and a twin. The other "bedroom" is a twin bunk built into a tiny space. The lack of curtains in this area prevented it from being in any way private. This may be perfect for a family with a small child or two, but it was not a great one for us. Perhaps the height of the doorways and beams should be part of the property's description?
It was the perfect beach house. When visiting our greandkids in Bremerton we like to treat them by having them stay at our hotel with us. This time we decided to rent the little cabin, and it was perfect. We baked cookies and cupcakes for Christmas, they collected shells, and one morning the tide was high enough that the twins opened their bedroom window and talked to a kayaker as he passed by. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedding and bath towels are luxurious, and the owners are there when you need them! couldn't ask for more.
Being a travel RN, I've stayed in various areas and various housing. This was a "treat" to myself after returning from my frigid travels in Alaska. I wouldn't hesitate to encourage anyone looking for privacy, peace, coziness, and affordability in such a fantastic location. Being quite literally on the water provides for a seaside experience like no other. At low tide there's ample opportunity for treasure hunting and exploring. And at high tide it's very soothing to hear the water lap against the breakwater. The waterfowl, seals, and general beauty of the area is calming and rejuvenating. The cabin has everything one could need and then some with its beautiful decor. The gas fireplace in the master bedroom makes for a cozy and even romantic retreat. Plus, its location puts one in close proximity to everything one would need while make you feel like your miles from any city. I look forward to returning here. Thanks so much Mike and Lisa for this wonderful retreat!
I stayed at this beautiful little cottage for about 3 weeks on a personal retreat and it was very comfortable and relaxing. At high tide, the water comes right up to the cottage, can watch the jellyfish floating by and the various birds out on the water. Although small-ish, it has all the amenities I needed and my dog was very comfortable there too. Definitely recommended!
We rented the house and cabin during the week of our daughter's wedding which was held nearby. The bride and her maids stayed in the cabin and the bride's parents and her 2 brothers plus family stayed in the house. The weather was terrific and we enjoyed the views and water activities. The house was a perfect place for the bridal shower and a dinner to meet the groom's family here from the mid west. The property was clean well maintained, well appointed and stocked with all the necessary equipment. The owners were terrific and helped us in any way they could with our planning and our stay. We would love to return and spend more time here. The property is only 15 minutes from the ferry terminal and allows for quick access to Seattle. The Olympic National park with Hurricane Ridge is a day trip from here. The Puget Sound is a wonderful place to be and End of the Point is right in the middle of it and takes advantage of all the views of the Sound and the Olympic Mountains.
The cottage at the End of the Point is breathtaking. You wake up every morning to the sound of the sea - how wonderful! My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a month and the owners were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The kitchen was great with all the utensils we needed, and the master bed is very comfy! Pet owners, we brought our dog with us and she had a great time jumping in the ocean whenever we'd let her! The location in Bremerton is close to everything in Kitsap County. We'd definitely recommend End of the Point for people wanting to experience the Puget Sound!
