For starters you won’t find a nicer landlady. Patricia seems to genuinely enjoy providing a place for families to congregate, and is very welcoming and easy going. We rented her home for a large afternoon family affair. It was convenient for folks coming for the day from the Cape, Vermont, Connecticut and the greater Boston area, while also providing four bedrooms for those from farther afield. You will find the home located in a salt of the earth Boston neighborhood. This house is a labor of love. Patricia has been restoring this historic home for many years now, and she has furnished it in a fun, cozy and eclectic style. The home feels quite spacious. It will provide a great home base for you and your family if you come to the Boston area. There is a “T” less than a mile from the house. I am giving it five stars because it is very cool, homey and real, not pretentious or swanky--- We had a great time. Thanks Patricia!
Patricia was great , she answered all my questions and made sure that my family and I were ok. This property was well maintained, clean and extremely spacious and because I love to cook the kitchen had everything I need to have a huge family dinner. Thank Patricia.
We had so much fun. The entire house was so warm and welcoming. And we can't wait to work with Patricia again!
This house worked out perfectly for our family reunion this Thanksgiving. Patricia was helpful in every way. She graciously let us get in early, to unload our food from the cooler into the refrigerator. She also offered to buy any special cookware we might need for our Thanksgiving dinner, and even offered to bring over her mother's china and glassware! (We declined her very generous offer, not wanting to risk breaking anything.) The home was cozy, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with beautiful wood floors throughout. Everything was very clean, and there were plenty of nice pillows and fresh fluffy towels. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe.
As for location, it was convenient to a grocery store, pharmacy, and park. It was an easy 10-minute drive to the Forest Hills subway station (Orange Line), where we could park for $6/day and take the subway into Boston. This worked out great.
If we have another family reunion in Boston, we will definitely stay here again. Everyone in our party was happy with this house.
Spent a weekend with a huge group of friends, and it was the perfect setting for our bonding sessions and late-night singing parties. Not only was the house great, but the landlord is helpful, sweet, and an understanding person. She even assisted one of us on our way out when she had car trouble, even giving her an extra jumper cable.
So everything about this place, from the house, to who we rented it from, to what happened within it was nothing short of perfection.
This was absolutely perfect for our needs. It allowed everyone to have their own space. The kitchen was perfect for our first nights large family gathering. My sister brought her cat, who loved running up the back stairs and back down the front stairs. Rooms are spacious. Upstairs bath not only had the normal setup but also had a very large area with another sink for whoever else needed that option. Looking forward to staying here on my next trip. Definitely alot of thought put into the renovations that have been done.
House was very close to being as pictured in ad...worked out well for our family visit and the few issues we had the owner quickly corrected them. Close to dining, grocery and interstate.
The house was very cozy and clean. We were there for my daughters graduation from college. It was perfect close to everything. The only thing I didn't like there was no air conditioning. There was air conditioners in the bedrooms upstairs.
We had a great stay. We were looking for a reasonable place to stay so we could hang out in Boston every day while we were there. It was quite expensive to stay in Boston so we chose this option which worked out perfectly. It was about a 7 minute car ride to the Green "T" line in Forest Hills and then about a 10-20 minute ride into the city depending on where you want to go. Very easy to maneuver the "T" line. I believe you can also take the commuter or bus lines if you so choose but this was the cheapest, easiest way for us. The red line was close also but we had to make a connection which made the trip much longer into the city.
Patricia was great and answered all of our questions. The house was perfect for our group. We had 3 adults and 3 teenagers. House had 4 bedrooms (3 queens and 2 twins) and 2 baths so there was plenty of room for us to have our own space. It was very hot when we were there and the 3 bedrooms upstairs had air conditioners which we greatly appreciated. There were also fans in the house. I am a new Homeaway convert and will always travel like this especially when we have larger groups. It is so much nicer to stay in a spacious house instead of a hotel room. Thanks Patricia for everything. I will contact you again next time I am in Boston. Nancy
