Beautiful restored 1870 farm house, managed by friendly, experienced and well traveled owners. Located in one of the safest neighborhoods in Boston. Well maintained and owner occupied. Newly renovated apartment with separate entrance, private pati …
We loved our cozy basement sanctuary! It had all the necessary amenities, plus some extras! We used the hot tub every night after a long day out exploring Boston. It was a great location if you have a car as well as parking is free on the street so we left our car and explored by transit. Cynthia and John were great hosts, explaining everything clearly and helping us when we couldn't figure out the pellet stove! (Thanks John)! They went above and beyond, providing tons of tourist information and even leaving us "Charlie cards" for transit with a free ride on them! The bed was super comfy and with the fire going it felt like we were at a little cottage! I would highly recommend staying with Cynthia and John - take extra note of all the beautiful artwork on the walls....John is one heckuva talented fella!
This was a clean and comfortable VRBO. It has a kitchenette with micro and hot plate for cooking and all the amenities of a full kitchen. The apartment is a 3-minute walk to the bus stop; then, a 10-minute ride to Forrest Hills METRO station from where a 15-minute ride puts you in the heart of downtown Boston. The house is situated in a quiet and safe neighborhood and there is ample road parking available. The unit is cozy, it has excellent TV coverage, and there is a washer and dryer available if needed. We found this VRBO to be nicely situated for touring Boston via public transportation and for touring other areas by car. There are a number of restaurants available in nearby Roslindale town and adequate markets are also close by. John and Cynthia are excellent and friendly hosts. They assured our comfort and provided us with a wealth of information. We recommend this VRBO to couples or couples with one or two small children. We would return on a future trip to Boston.
We had a great stay here this week. It was the perfect centre for our US university tour, when we visited MIT, Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth in a week.
The apartment was the perfect place to relax in between the admissions tours, with really comfy beds and everything we needed - there were even plastic bags so we could take a packed lunch with us one day!
Sorry we didn't have the chance to visit the museums and art galleries this time but we hope we'll be back soon.
Thank you Cyndi and John for a great stay and for all your help finding our way round US culture - and especially for your patience when our plane was so delayed.
What a lovely and cozy place. It feels like home away from home. I am thoroughly enjoying my first visit to Boston. The accommodations are absolutely wonderful. Thank you John and Cyndi for such gracious hosts. Next time I visit Boston , I will definitely book this property.
Wishing we could stay another week! Your graciousness and your apartment are beyond expectation. We enjoyed the Village and the convince of buses and the T. Spending a morning at the MFA was an extra treat. We will tell all of our travelling friends about 20 Doncaster and hope that we can return soon.
From the moment we arrived at your home, we loved it! The place is so warm and cozy and your hospitality was more and better than anything we would"ve asked for. When we're back in Boston, we will definitely ask to stay here again.
Thank you for your hospitality and for allowing us to rent your beautiful suite. It was everything we could have asked for We loved the stove, so warm. If your ever in Anchorage drop us a line and we'll show you around.
Thank you so much for being so accommodating and gracious hosts. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated! It was a lovely stay! Thank you!
It was a great trip but too bad the Jays lost!
Thank you for your hospitality during our daughters graduation. We truly enjoyed your place and it will be forever a part of our family's vacation. Thanks for all.
Very welcoming place! John and Cindy were helpful and available (not that we needed anything). The apartment is well furnished, colorful and well-stocked and the wood stove would make it most cosy in colder weather. We all slept soundly. Easy walk (10 minutes?) to the Roslindale center for shopping, restaurants and to catch the train into downtown Boston. Thank you John & Cindy -- a perfect place to base your Boston area stay.
Dear Cyndi and John,
Writing today a big "thank you" for letting us use your place.
Thank you for everything but a few things stood out for us.
-John thank you for lighting the fire for us.....it was very welcoming to come to a warm apartment.
-One thing I forgot to buy from the store was sugar. Thank you for ample supply in the kitchen.
-Charlie Cards were very useful.
-Thank you for organizing our tickets for the "Whale Watch" and "Duck Boats".
I have only one regret, that is would have loved to spend more time here!!! (Missed our opportunity to use the hot tub)
God bless you both.
With much Love,
Dear John and Cyndi,
Thank you for your hospitality and your lovely accommodations. The location was so convenient to public transportation and we enjoyed exploring downtown Boston. We even had a real snowy day for your desert princess to finally experience first hand. This was a wonderful trip!
Well Cyndi and John you have to change the minimum stay for your place...3 nights are not enough! We need 3 more days to see and visit your beautiful Boston. We'll be back soon I hope. Thank you for providing us such a nice and quiet place.
