Charles St, Beacon Hill Hideaway
Completely renovated in the summer of 2012, this studio apartment is a joy to experience. Second floor walk-up with two large, sunny windows facing the back of the building. Very private and you don’t get Charles St. traffic noise. Non-working bu …
We really enjoyed our stay here at the heart of this historical town. People living modern lives in quiet historical heritage.
We were much absorbed in this immaculately prepared rental home, very quiet opposite the major street in front. Facilities and amenities are perfect for cooking/eating, reading/thinking, watching DVDs and listening to iPod etc. The climate was so comfortable that we didn't have to turn on the air conditioner in August!
Eating, drinking and walking on Charles Street, we have come to know why so many people love this town to live in.
Thank you for everything. We really enjoyed our living at this quiet heaven!
Dear Robin and Mickey, We celebrated a short vacation away from it all at your beautiful condo. It may be true...good things come in small packages. Everything here is packaged perfectly for your guests pleasure.
We loved it on Charles ST in this gorgeous & tenderly decorated nest. We will undoubtedly be back soon!
Thanks so much Robin. This apartment on Charles St is the perfect location for visiting Boston. It was great to be able to come back here every day after touring around. The apartment is very comfortable and peaceful. Charles St is very charming and there are so many great eateries. It was wonderful to stay here!
We totally enjoyed our stay here. Everything we needed and more! Great location - We walked 8-10 miles each day! Windows open for sleeping - rarely used the A/C. We loved Boston! Loved the Paramount for inexpensive food and walked several times to Little Italy (North End)! Thank you for a terrific visit!
This place is perfection! Thank you for the loving attention to detail - every inch of space thoughtfully coordinated. Cool art, high end tiny kitchen, nice bathroom. Much much better than a hotel stay. Hope to return!
My husband and I stayed here for a last minute anniversary trip and could not have picked a better place. Robin was super helpful and responded to my last minute plea for availability the night before we arrived. We called Friday with a Saturday arrival and when we arrived the place was perfect. Robin was super flexible with check-in and check-out. Aside from making our first experience with vrbo easy the location could not be better. We felt like locals walking up and down Charles St and the apartment really felt like a 5 star hotel! We wouldn't imagine staying anywhere else next time we visit!!!
What can I say about this perfect little retreat, Robin has excelled in making this a cosy little home from home. It is so well equipped with so many extra little touches to make our stay just a joy. Has to be one of the best locations in Boston, stepping out on to Charles Street is like stepping back in time, quaint little shops and friendly shop owners. We have had the pleasure of working with Robin twice before and she makes the whole process simple and seamless. The apartment is so homely we ended up eating in most of the time, it was too nice to leave, especially as it was dressed for Christmas. Wonderful to come back to after a day shopping, kick of the shoes and relax. The bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud, and having breakfast by the window was a treat. Can't wait to return.
My husband and I enjoyed staying at this well-appointed, centrally located apartment. The owners' design and furnishings make for a comfortable
stay. We recommend it highly and would love to return next time we come to Boston. Thanks for everything Robin!
This apartment was a perfect find for a long weekend in Boston. The location was key, right on Charles St. on Beacon Hill but the studio's position in the rear of the building made it quiet and peaceful. It was a short walk to the Red Line where I needed to travel on and was equally as close and convenient to the Public Garden. A Whole Foods market was a 10 minute walk and across the street was a wine shop with a great selection of wine and beer. The apartment was well appointed with all necessary tools in the kitchen and the bathroom had nice clean and fluffy towels. It was just the perfect size for me. The owner was quick with all correspondence and made the whole transaction flawless. I hope to rent this gem next time I am in Boston!
My husband and I were so fortunate to discover online and spend four nights in 100 Charles St., Apt. 1, while visiting our grad-student son. On a previous trip to Boston, we stayed at the city's top-rated hotel. Honestly, we found this lovely jewel on Charles Street to exceed that hotel in all the ways that matter: comfort, location, design, artistry, merit, and value. Every single detail has been carefully included for your comfort here. In a small space, you get the following: a brand-new well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, both with top-of-the-line appliances and fixtures; a very comfortable bed, cleverly situated, with luxury linens; a large walk-in closet for all your stuff; a charming sitting area, with just the right lighting and beautiful, comfortable furnishings. The A.C. worked well on hot days in July. Marble fireplace and Oriental rug are lovely touches. Artwork is interesting and works well with the atmosphere of old Boston with an updated vibe. If you have questions while you are there, Robin responds in a jiffy with email (or phone, probably, if you called her). And we could not imagine a better location, right on Charles Street, but at the back of a building, so it's quiet. At one end of Charles St., just a few blocks, is the Boston Common and all that offers. At the other end, just a couple of blocks, is the MGH/Charles T stop, plus whole foods, hospital, etc., etc.
In between, along the street, are lovely antique shops, a 24-hour CVS, coffee shops, the Charles Street Market, great restaurants, including the unique and delicious Paramount, Fig, and many more. And across the street, up the hill, is a short hike up Beacon Hill, with the legendary mansions, the State House, and all that. This lovely apartment is a great find in Boston for a couple or a single who can manage one flight of stairs. Highly recommend and hope to stay often at 100 Charles St. Thank you, Robin and Woody, for all the care you have taken to provide your guests with a wonderful home away from home.
My husband and I spent 10 days here and had a really wonderful time. The apartment is beautiful and the location is just unbeatable, in the heart of Beacon Hill, close to everything and yet very peacefull and quiet. We found everything we could possibly need in the apartment, everything was very functional and practical and at the same time it looked lovely and inviting. We are coming back to Boston again next year and really hope we can stay here again. Thank you, Robin, we didn't want to leave!!! :))
I almost want to tone this down, since it will be a rave and seem to lack credibility. But here goes...
This place makes the best-appointed hotel room seem vaguely like a Motel 6. The location, first of all, is optimal: right in the center of Beacon Hill, just two blocks from the Charles St. T and another two from the Boston Common, with every sort of fun shop in between. The interior is done with such taste and care that you'd want to hire whoever designed it to do your own place. Don't be put off by the stated size (400 sqft): it's so intelligently laid out that it seems downright spacious. There are actually TWO double-beds, one cleverly perched above an enormous walk-in (yes: walk-in) closet. The kitchen has tons of space, essentially new appliances, and everything you could want even for a month's stay. The furnishings? Like someone haunted antique stores looking for precisely space- and time-appropriate items. Street noise is minimal, as it faces a side street, but the main entrance is right on Charles. Even the neighbors we bumped into were nice.
Someone else writing a review said they were torn between going out and staying in, and I thought that was silly... until we stayed here. We were actually sad to leave. Incidentally, the apartment looks exactly like the photos. But nicer. Just great in every way. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Just as described, this is a small but very comfortable and functional studio. I stayed here by myself, but it would also be fine for two. One of the nicest that I've stayed in on Beacon Hill, and I highly recommend it.
We were delighted to stay in this charming apartment which is right in the heart of Boston but tucked away from noisy traffic. Very quiet. The location is great, easy to walk around most of Boston. We enjoyed the historical walks and the neighborhood feeling. The information booklet had the best information about the surrounding area, good tips on where to go for meals and to shop. All walking distance. The unit itself is very clean and full of light. Bed and shower were both great. Place has a fully equipped kitchen. We had everything we needed. Owners definitely put a lot of thinking and heart into renovating this historical apartment and turning it into a cozy, updated studio. Feels like home away from home. Definitely recommend it.
Stayed five nights in this charming, immaculate apartment in the best location imaginable. The owners have put a lot of thought and care into decor, amenities and comfort, and we enjoyed every moment of our visit. Though you are right on Charles St. the apartment is in the back of the building and is completely private and quiet. Walk everywhere to excellent restaurants, coffee, shopping, museums, Whole Foods, CVS, etc. Don't miss dinner at Toscana, pizza at Fig's and coffee at Thinking Cup across the Common. We felt like we were part of the neighborhood. Owners were a breeze to work with and very responsive to questions. Highly recommended and can't wait to return.
We had a such a great time visiting Boston and one of the main reasons was because we had this lovely apartment to come home to each night and to wake up in every morning. The only problem was that we were torn between going out and staying in. We had some pretty cold weather so we were especially glad to have more than a hotel room to hang out in. Cozy and comfortable! It has everything you need to cook with. Lots of places to get take-out in the immediate neighborhood. We felt very special ducking off the busy street into our own apartment! Given the opportunity, we would definitely stay there again.
We were lucky to spend Christmas in this beautiful studio and it was magical! The apartment is immaculate, beautifully decorated and truly feels like home. We loved having fully equipped kitchen and personal touches throughout the apartment. It actually feels more spacious than it looks in the pictures. It was such a treat to be right in the heart of Beacon Hill in walking distance to many great restaurants, Boston Commons and to see the city decorated for the Holidays. Thank you Robin and Mickey for sharing your home and making our Holidays one of a kind!
