This review is not on the property itself (because we didn't end up staying at the property), but it's about the property owner instead.
My husband and I had a long weekend trip planned at the end of October, but because of Superstorm Sandy, we decided to cancel our trip. We really wanted to make the trip, but we just didn't want to take the risk of flying with the storm quickly approaching and then end up being stranded once we did arrive.
We were in close contact with Robin (the owner) once we decided on this property for our trip. She was very understanding once we told her we had decided to cancel our stay/trip. We were able to quickly work out all the financial details once it was settled that we wouldn't be going. Robin was very pleasant to work with; she was very responsive and very good about communicating all the details regarding the rental with us from the very start.
Hopefully we'll be able to make it out to Boston in the near future. We've already told Robin that if we do, we're definitely staying at her place! Property owners like Robin is the reason why we've always used VRBO for our trips and will continue to do so in the future.
We stayed here during the third week of July 2012, and had a great experience. The listing is very accurate, and so there were no negative surprises. Great communication with the owner made our experience easy and pleasant at every step. The owner met us at the unit, and was very helpful, answering any questions we had, and we were able to contact the owner at any time with any questions or concerns- truly the perfect balance of accessibility and helpfulness without being the slightest bit intrusive. The unit is a studio, so it's very cozy, but it is also very comfortable and has everything you need. We found it to be clean and well-maintained, and we felt very comfortable relaxing there after our days of roaming. The skylight is great, and the sunlight help gets you going early in the AM. We did not use the pool, so I cannot comment on that, but we did use the laundry room in the building, which was very nice to have. The access to the train/subway is a huge plus. We could be out the door and on our way in minutes, and we never felt uncomfortable in the neighborhood despite the fact that we hardly ever returned before dark. The building and neighborhood was quiet. Sabatino's Pizza at the end of the block is really tasty. We absolutely would recommend this listing.
