U - unbelievable what can be crammed into such a small space L - location location close to everything you need and want to do!!!! Thank you Paul for making our 1st (not our last) visit to Boston a PERFECT getaway!!!!!!!
My wife and I stayed here for a few days in September. We had mostly great fall weather. The Beacon Hill location was excellent for walking around old Boston, Boston Common and the waterfront. We managed to visit the MFA, Faneuil Hall and the North End, too. The food on Charles Street was a great highlight. We used Paul's guide and didn't go wrong the whole time. The furnishings in the apartment were perfect. It was cozy and pretty quiet for the city location. We will definitely consider coming back.
I was looking for a holiday retreat and Chez Paul's fit the bill very well. This gem of a studio has everything that I needed. The amenities were very comfortable and the location was quite amazing. It's a short walk to the T (the subway) and every kind of store or first class restaurant, is nearby. It's quite and a fine (hilly) spot for a walker like myself. I hope to return this summer and look forward to retreating here to enjoy the seasons. Thank you Paul for this fine place.
This was my first visit to Boston, indeed my first visit to the US – I am Australian – and could not have been more delighted with the apartment, its location, and my communication with Paul. Even the weather was kind – unusually mild for the time of year apparently. Chez Paul is the most compact, brilliantly organised and comfortable place you can imagine. The whole place is only 225 square feet, but is so cleverly designed, with so much storage, it is easy to keep things tidy and organised. It’s in a very old building, built in 1860 as a ‘townhome’, and then carved up in 1920 into 14 apartments. The ground floor apartment (they guess it was originally a store room or servants’ quarters) was beautifully restored in 2007. The apartment has all modern appliances (including a very compact dishwasher) with quality kitchenware, slate counters, polished floors, high quality linen and towels. It is clear that the owners love the place and are very proud of it. As well they should be. The photos are very accurate and from my point of view, the reality was even better! Paul was a thoughtful and very helpful correspondent, and responded promptly to my inquiries. What really made my stay was the neighbourhood of Beacon Hill. I seemed to be able to walk everywhere and the T is very close by. Best of all was the proximity of the Wholefoods Market, a boon for me as someone on a restricted diet. I also loved the historic feel of the place and enjoyed exploring the parks, the great shopping on Charles Street and the theatre district. I would highly recommend this apartment for any single person or couple. It is an absolute treat.
Beautiful, spotless, quiet and ulta convenient. Paul was quick to respond to all questions and the visitors guide was very helpful. I would highly recommend this space for a younger couple or single wanting to see the sights but feel like a resident. A short walk to (very close) the Common, Public Garden (must see) Esplanade (free concerts on Wed eves), the Freedom Trail, etc...
I am an artist coming to Boston generally once a year to have a gallery show. I have found the perfect home while in Boston. Perfect location, charming, and so well thought out and appointed. Very comfortable bed, great towels, travel books, a few films, kitchen and bathroom basics, clean as could be, etc., as others have said. Didn't need to buy anything for the weekend - just fresh food. The owner and I had some nice email during my stay - he sent a thoughtful recommendation for something to do on the day. I look forward to my next stay at the very friendly Chez Paul!
We looked into staying at a hotel, but it was outside of our budget. Fortunately we came across this wonderful property on Beacon right behind the Statehouse. The location and price were absolutely perfect. It was great coming home to "Chez Paul" after a long day of exploring Boston. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Paul provided travel guides and suggestions of places to eat and visit. Be sure to check out the guide Paul put together. The property is just right for two people to stay in comfortably. I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay. Next time I am in Boston, I will look here first.
We stayed here during the heat wave, and it was quiet, cool, and comfortable. Every inch of the space has been well thought out, and though small, it is like a stateroom on a luxury yacht. A nice kitchen for cooking, and plenty of storage made us feel at home, and the wireless made us feel connected to the world as well. On top of everything else, it's located in the country's most beautiful historic neighborhood, with absolutely EVERYTHING within a few blocks. The room was comfortable enough to stay for a while, and we did! Didn't really want to leave. Pops Senior Florida
We can only echo what others have said –it’s a great location and the apartment is far more comfortable than just size would suggest. We appreciated the eating suggestions – and found that several of them were packed Saturday night on Charles Street. A good sign. San Jose CA
Thank you for providing such a great and thoughtful details in a space that was already perfect for its location and coziness. We really enjoyed our stay and it felt like a home to return to every night. Best Regards
