Garden Setting, 2 Bedroom + Large Office, 3 Blocks to Cal, & off-street parking!
Offering my lovely, fully furnished home: a 1400 sq. foot, 1920's townhouse in North Berkeley. It is two stories, has two bedrooms (one with a large adjoining office), a private patio, 1.5 bathrooms, and includes a private garage for off street pa …
I came to spend Thanksgiving with my (adult) kids. We were able to whip up a wonderful holiday meal in the well appointed kitchen. The property is off the street which made it quiet and everything was cozy and comfortable. It's located close to everything you might need or want, (groceries, dining and shopping). The back patio was beautiful and well maintained. The bonus was a one car garage, hard to come by in that area. I will definitely be coming back!
My hubby and I stayed here with our 1.5 year old daughter and my in-laws for a quick weekend for a wedding. Colette (owner)was absolutely wonderful to work with. She provided excellent directions to the house which we were very thankful for as we arrived in the dark. She was wonderful about getting back to texts promptly! We arrived much later than planned (thanks to the airline losing our luggage) and she provided us with many dinner suggestions. Upon departure, we even forgot some items which she promptly mailed to us- THANK YOU!
The house is absolutely beautiful. The living room is comfy and spacious. There are 2 couches, exercise machine, a flat screen TV, and tons of movies to choose from. The kitchen has nearly every appliance known to man- including my husband's favorite, an espresso machine! The dining area just off of the kitchen is cozy yet was spacious enough for 4 adults and a high chair. There is a half bath downstairs which was very convenient. There are 2 bedrooms, both with large closets. One bedroom has a very Large office attached (no door between) which was a nice place to set up our pack n play for our baby. The bathroom was adjacent to the bedrooms. The outside grounds are absolutely lovely. The patio has tons of herbs, a lemon tree and a cute bistro table. The grounds in the front were beautiful with a good size grass area. The garage is small (as stated) but was able to fit a Ford Escape no problem!
The only thing we all agreed could make the home better would be curtains in the bathroom. Although the view from the bathroom is lovely, it makes it very uncomfortable to go the bathroom or get in or out of the shower with out moving around a bit so as not to be seen by the neighbors.
The other thing to note- if you are going to be staying her with young children- is the the house is older. It has the gorgeous wood floors and stylings of an older home which I loved! However, it also comes with the creaks and moans of an older home. IF I did not have a baby I would not have even thought twice about it or have even noticed. But because we put our little one down at 7pm (and she is a bit of a light sleeper) we had to be very careful where we stepped when coming upstairs. The stairs are very creaky and there are a lot of creaky spots in the bedroom... AGAIN would not have even noticed if I didn't have a little one. But if you are traveling with a small child this would be something to take into consideration!
We (My husband, myself and our 4month old baby) stayed here for 10 days and I must say we felt at home! I personally loved the bed. They were so comfortable and I slept really well. It's 10min walk to grocery store and Berkeley's famous Cheeseboard place. Excellent entertainment options with high speed internet, big screen TV (cable, directTV, appleTV, netflix, etc.), tons of DVDs, and XBox with many games! Indoor garage parking is a major plus. The place is quiet with not much traffic noise and neighbors are all courteous. The downstairs toilet has the coolest built-in gray water recycling sink that I have ever seen! Will stay here again and again!
Everything worked out very well -- great communication, wonderful location with easy walk to campus and gourmet ghetto, and very pleasant stay. Really enjoyed the ease, comfort, and several attractive features to the place. Would definitely stay here again.
Our family enjoyed our stay in this clean and well-appointed townhouse very close to the Univ. of California-Berkeley, and even closer to some terrific restaurants in Gourmet Ghetto. We also made good use of the nearby North Berkeley BART station to get into San Francisco. Considering the location, the neighborhood was quiet, and I enjoyed sitting in the peaceful patio in the rear. The property was as depicted in the listing, and the beds were very comfortable! The owner, Collette, was a pleasure to deal with.
Stayed here with my wife and two young boys (5 and 2), and loved it. Excellent location and great house. Colette was great to deal with, as well, and provided everything exactly as advertised.
The Perfect VRBO experience. Everything we needed for our stay in Berkeley. Beds were incredibly comfortable, we spent a ton of time on the gorgeous patio and the kitchen was stocked with every appliance we could imagine. Within 3 blocks of grocery stores, restaurants and bart stations. Cannot beat this beautiful condo while staying in Berkeley.
The owner was extremely helpful and easy to contact; the property was clean and welcoming. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the big screen (3-D) TV and treadmill...maybe next time! But we did sit in the lovely garden and shower in the big sunny bathroom. Comfortable beds, plenty of space for our clothes and luggage. Everything we could possibly want or need in the kitchen.
We went jogging and walking through the lovely surrounding neighborhoods. We especially liked the Rose Garden on Euclid. Walking distance to delicious smoothies/coffee/baked goods at Brewed Awakening on Euclid(open early). Also, amazing bread etc. at Cheese Board Bakery on Shattuck. Shopped at the Safeway next door on Shattuck and enjoyed a delicious and reasonably priced Italian dinner at Lo Coco's also on Shattuck (across from CVS pharmacy) The campus was right down the street. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay or a more convenient location.
