If you are looking for a 4 star resort ala the 4 Seasons, you're in the wrong place. But if you're looking for something unique, cozy, calm and quiet, this is your place.
This is our second time of utilizing HomeAway but this is the first time we met the owner. When we first arrived I wasn't quite sure what to think. Then we met the owner, who is right there on property. I must say, she is the friendliest owner I've met. Gave us great advise and was there if we needed anything.
The place was clean and cozy and we felt very comfortable. The neighborhood was very friendly. Everyone we met seemed nice. We used the neighborhood bodega and restaurant "Peaches" and they were both friendly establishments. Peaches also had great food. We wouldn't have known this place even existed if it wasn't for the advise of our host.
Also very convenient to the subway for a quick ride into Manhattan or to Coney Island. I would stay here again.
Our flight got delayed and we were 2 hours late, but Leecia make us very comfortable and very accommodating. Leecia got lots of restaurant recommendation and knowledge of the area!
The apartment itself is very well equipped, loved the lighting in the apartment which is bright and natural.
The only down side is there's no good restaurant nearby, but there's a big supermarket nearby if you want to cook instead!
We enjoyed our stay...easy commute to manhatten and williamsburg brooklyn! The owners were really nice and helpful! We would love to rent from them again!
I spent a wonderful week here and everything was as advertised. Great access to subway (direct A line to Manhattan), great local restaurants, helpful hosts, and the newly renovated apartment was spotless.
Everything was as shown on homeaway pictures. Leecia is a very nice and helpful host, always trying to make us feel confortable. A few blocks away from the subway made very easy to travel to Manhattan on a 25 minutes ride. There is a grocery store around the corner, a very fine cafeteria one block away and a great italian restaurant 3 blocks away.
On our first trip to New York we decided to book an not too expensive apartment with a good connection to the airport and city - and we found it! And it's clean too! We get all what we needed in the apartment, hairdryer, iron, towels, WLAN and much more. The owners Mike and Leecia are very friendly and helpful and almost there for you (they live in the same house).
The neigbourhood is friendly with a supermarket/grocery nearby (3 mins walk). The subway (Utica) is a (under) 10 mins walk. It takes about 20 mins to Manhattan with the subway. From the airport (Howard Beach) it takes about 25 mins.
For New York the apartment is still quiet, only a few police or fire sirens you could hear from time to tme - but that's normal! At night you wouldn't hear it because you are still tired of the day :-)
All in one we would do it again! Thanks for the hospitality!
The place is exactly as the pictures. Clean and perfect for 1 or 2 people. Leecia and Mike are great host and always available. The place has extra towels and throws in case you get cold. The kitchen is equipped with the basics. The grocery store is around the corner. The subway stop is 2 blocks away, it's an express line so you get to Manhattan in 15-20 minutes. There is an amazing pizza place two blocks away that you have to try. The neighborhood is nice, very family oriented. You can get in late with no worries walking from the subway station.
I would definitely recommend the place and wouldn't hesitate to stay here in future opportunities.
I was the first tenant to stay here and I am still loving it. I am in New York for a while, and have a great deal of writing to get done, so I needed a welcoming place to work inside. Thank goodness I ended up here!
The owners are Leecia and Mike and they are helpful and generous. They have thought to equip the room with everythng you could need. I often know on their door to ask them questions and their patience and knowledge has helped me out a great deal.
It took me a few days to disover the neighborhood and it is lovely. If I find I can nolonger get inspiration indoors, then there are two quiet, trendy cafes within a short walking distance that have wifi, good food, and yummy cappacinos. And if you venture farther, Brooklyn is massive, and full of exciting things to do and art to experience.
I have to travel to Manhattan everyday to go to school and it is a simple subway ride away. I have stayed in the downtown core to see late Broadway shows and can make my way back on the subway alone quickly and safely. Travel Tip - Subways are a much more efficient way to travel, saves you both money and time compared to cabs.
The most important element about staying here is the positive vibe you fell when you walk in the front door. The room is beautifully decorated, and you feel... home.
I highly reccomend staying here. I have told my friends and my relatives. I feel very lucky to have discovered a wonderful new travel destination.
