My gf and I spent 5 nights in this cozy and and wonderfully decorated apartment! It has a killer view, it's bright and has most every creature comfort you can imagine! I've stayed in many rentals where you FEEL like you are in a rental, this feels like you are staying with family! Stella & Len really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome from the personal touches throughout the house to their suggestions on what to do while on the island. The apartment is very uniquely designed, super clean & very well taken care of! I almost forgot to mention the fresh raspberries, strawberries and peas waiting for us when we arrived; as well as many staples that allowed us to have a nice breakfast before having to head out to a grocery store. There were many books & maps avaiable so while we put our feet up and watched a movie in the evening we planned the next days adventure! There is a wonderful fireplace with a beautifully original mantel which we didn't get around to using, but I can imagine it is fabulous when it's cold out. During our visit we enjoyed a night in Seattle, hiking at Bloedel nature reserve, dinner at The Loft & a fabulous bakery in Poulsbo, lunch on the water in downtown Bainbridge, a farmers market in Kingston and even a movie at the old theater at the Lynwood Center; there is so much to do in and around Bainbridge! The lush garden and spectacular view of Seattle and the ferries as they go by make for a very relaxing time spent out on the deck. I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone wanting to get away and unwind for several days. If you must check in, having wifi available is a great bonus! We would suggest trying Harbor Public House in Bainbridge for a nice meal overlooking the docks & try some of their Poutines & Sluy's bakery in Poulsbo - the viking cups & rosettes in particular! The Treehouse Cafe at the Lynwood Center is also very yummy! I really hope we get to visit again!
My wife & I along with our 3 year son had a relaxing and pleasant stay. Only wish was that the fog wouldn't have stayed around so long to obstruct our view of Seattle. Plenty of room and nice accomodations for the three of us. The owners were great to work with. They even had some toys for our son to play with in the unit when we arrived. I would recommend it to all our friends and family.
The view is so astounding, especially at night, that staying in a shack on the beach would have been fine! :) But, this is no shack! Nice kitchen with lots of equipment for the chef of your family, pretty bedroom with a double set of French doors (one to main view/dining space and one to hallway where the nice washer and dryer closet and the nice bathroom are). Sitting area behind dining area looks out to the view or a gas fireplace or watch a video. We suggest you watch some of the videos that are there, for you don't have easy access to some of them via NetFlix or any other non-island source. Extra blankets and quilts. Reading material. Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable place we'd stay in again and have already recommended to others. Really friendly, interesting, informative owners aimed at making your stay pleasant and fun. Nice emergency kit in the cabinet, and really cool lantern provided for our night-time excursions. Pretty landscaping in front of the apartment's deck. This view is not matched by another Vacation Rental on the island, we're sure. Great place to stay!
This is a beautiful place in a beautiful location with a great view. The owners, Stella and Len could not be more friendly and accommodating. The unit is new and quite large. It has all the mod cons and more and the deck out front is a great place to unwind with a glass of wine and take in the ocean and city views. They also have beautiful gardens which were brimming with hummingbirds. Very peaceful.
My wife and I recently spent an amazing three weeks here, and we cannot say enough great things about this wonderful apartment and its owners. The apartment has just been impeccably renovated with high end finishes and charming cottage decor. It is even more spectacular in person than the online photos suggest, especially given the stunning waterfront view that looks directly onto the Seattle skyline. Watching the ferries go back and forth, in the changing light of day and night, was truly mesmerizing. The apartment itself has been most thoughtfully equipped with all the amentities to make you feel comfortably at home. The location on Bainbridge is incredibly convenient to the island's downtown shops and restaurants, and there are also lots of walking paths and hiking trails right out the front door. To top it off, Len and Stella (the owners), went above and beyond in providing warm hospitality, making our visit truly special. We have stayed in many, many vacation rentals all over the world, and we would rate our stay here an 11 out of 10! We look forward to returning in the future for another incredible stay.

      St. John's # 203 - 2 BR, Sleeps 6 - Great Location
St. John's Apartments #203 is a large two bedroom with a combined kitchen/dining/living area. It's on the corner of East Pike and Harvard with a great view down to the street. East Pike Street is the main arterial that connects downtown Seattle with the Capitol Hill Neighborhood. St. John's is 17 blocks from the Pike Place Market, 8 blocks from the Washington State Convention Center and on the other side 3 - 5 blocks from the busy restaurant and bar area of Capitol Hill. We're right in-between, a great location. Across the street is a large grocery store, so it's very easy to stay at St. John's. We have six short term apartments and 17 long term rentals. You can view more photos and information on our website, which is linked below.

The apartment has two bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, nightstands, dresser, good closet space and a makeup/writing desk. There is a 40" TV in the master bedroom. The second bedroom has two adult sized twin beds. Adult sized means they are longer than typical twins, 8 inches longer--the length of a queen bed. They're much more comfortable when adults use them, and of course great for children as well. The second bedroom has a 32" TV, dresser and closet.

The main room combines the kitchen/dining and living areas. The dining room table is in the bump-out corner, giving it a great view down onto E. Pike and Harvard Avenue. We just love sitting there and people watching! The kitchen area is small, taking up one wall plus a nook area for the full sized refrigerator. There is an electric stove and large microwave plus small appliances like a toaster and blender and all the necessary cookware to prepare and enjoy meals in the apartment. We stock the fridge and cabinet with basic cooking essentials like cooking oil, salt and pepper etc. Also included is a coffee maker and both caffeinated and decaf coffees.

The living room area features a couch by American Leather. It's a very expensive couch but well worth it. It's comfortable for just sitting. And it's the most comfortable of all sleeper sofas when you pull it open to use as a bed. The platform is solid and the bed is a high density foam. Together it's just about as good as a real bed. We have this same bed in our one bedrooms #300 and 3308 and have had lots of compliments over the years as to how comfortable the sleeper is to sleep in.

Also in the living room area is a 40" Samsung LED TV. We have satellite TV so everything is in Hi-Def and there are over 100 channels including HBO. Plus there's a DVD player and a stereo with ipod/iphone dock. And of course there is high speed wireless internet.

The bathroom has a combined tub/shower. He entry hall is long with hooks for coats and umbrellas and a small set of shelves stocked with some non-essential items to make it homey. Included are some nice art/picture books, some Pulitzer Prize winning novels and toys for when younger people come visit.

Our manager, Johnny Sidorowicz, lives right next to apartment 203. He will be there to check you in and give you advice on neighborhood sights, etc.; anything you might need. We also have an assistant manager that lives in the building, so you're never without help if you want it. Of course the location is perfect with the grocery store across the street and all the restaurants and night spots around us. It's very easy to walk downtown and a car is really not necessary. Plus the bus stops one block away, if you don't want to walk. It's $1.50 to ride the bus and it's an easy straight shot downtown. But we are on a hill--Capitol Hill. You go down when going downtown. When coming back, it's up the steep hill. That's when the bus can look very pleasing!

You can reserve on-line through our website. There's an accurate availability calendar that will show any days that are available for each of our six apartments, and give you pricing. You can reserve on-line through the site if you wish.

Thank you for considering St. John's. Happy Travels!
