I had to attend a conference in the Brooklyn museum and was looking for a place close by, so that I can walk and my husband, who accompanied me, could easy reach the underground to explore NY. Mimis place was just perfect for us. There was all we needed. The bed was extremly comfortable and we slept very well after exhausting days. It was very quiet. The people in the neighborhood are very friendly. Last day we rented a car...was convienient to park in the street. Having the underground just across the flat is so nice! It is the express train to Manhatten. We also liked the Flatbush street with all those nice places to eat out. Sometimes we could not decide what to eat first ;-) For all in search for a great coffee in the morning I can only advice (like another reviewer) Prospect Perk Café (Flatbush corner Sterlin)...it is the best I drunk during my whole stay in NY. The organic supermarket close by is also great! What can I say...was the perfect place for us to stay and explore New York. Thanks to Mimi, who was easy to reach and communicate with!
My wife and I live in the area and we rented Martha’s apartment for my mother-in-law, who was visiting to help us with our new baby. Our chief requirements was someplace close by that was clean and quiet–the apartment fit the bill perfectly! There was one minor issue with cable and internet, but Martha diligently addressed the problem within the first week of my mother-in-law's stay. Would definitely book her place again!
On one of the days of my stay here, the Nor'easter struck. I was as warm and cozy as can be in the perfect apartment. But since I wanted to visit with my family, I ventured outdoors since the subway was right across the street! Prospect Park was in easy jogging distance, as was an organic super market, and a gym -across another street!! Martha's welcoming and help was just icing on the cake.
I loved this apartment. My family (husband, myself, 3 y.o. daughter) stayed for a month in April. The location by the subways was excellent, the proximity to Park Slope was just what we wanted, and the walkable distance to Prospect Park was heavenly. Martha was accommodating, and I felt very relaxed during our stay. We did have an unexpected cold snap during our stay, and the building was a little chilly. Fortunately there were plenty of blankets and comforters. The building is an older one, and a walk up. If you choose to stay here, I can highly recommend grabbing a coffee at Prospect Perk on the way to the park in the morning. You can sit on the benches and watch the dogs run free during their morning dog park hours. It's heavenly.
This apartment was great for our vacation! The location was so convenient. My daughter and I were on the subway every day and it was so nice when we got off at our stop late and had a 2 minute walk to get "home." The neighbors we ran into were so friendly and helpful. Martha (the owner) was helpful and very responsive when we had a few questions. Looking at these pictures on here bring a huge smile to my face. We had such a great time there, and just for a few days felt like real New Yorkers! :-) The only downside for me was I never considered the possibility that this would be on an upper floor and no elevator. For this out-of-shape fat lady, that was an unpleasant (read near-death) shock! But I decided to suck it up and was better for it. The bed and futon were both very comfortable, and we had all the amenities we needed. The window unit was greatly appreciated as it was way hot that week. Oh, and another reviewer mentioned hopstop. That is a great app for getting around.

Martha's home is lovely and in a wonderful area of Brooklyn. The apartment is spacious and is walking distance to nice parks, restaurants, and the subway. Martha is very accommodating and we had a lovely time.
We have stayed here 3 or 4 times over a period of two years. It's very convienent to our son's place as well as the subway and shops. It's always very clean and plenty of towels and sheets available. It's quiet too. We're planning to rent it again.
Stayed here for a long weekend as an alternative to a hotel. It was in a perfect location, walking distance to tons of cool restaurants and bars, and we were walking in prospect park within a few minutes. The apartment is small, nicely furnished and above all, quiet. The neighborhood is very pleasant. Stone's throw to the metro. Martha was very helpful. I will stay here again if I can. Highly recommended.
Only the main bed had sheets. The futon in the living room had no sheets. When we complained only a top sheet was delivered, not a set. No hand towels were anywhere. When we arrived we were informed that the switch in the kitchen necessary for the coffee maker and the microwave was not operable. It was not fixed until the fifth day. It should have been taken care of before arriving or an adjustment in the rent should have been offered. We saw two roaches in the sink so we decided to eat out all the time. May be this is common in NY. The bathroom floors had brown stains and some shower tiles were broken.
