Amsterdam’s historic center is less than 15 minutes away by bike or tram.

Indische Buurt ("Indies Neighborhood") is a neighborhood in the eastern portion of the city of Amsterdam, in the Dutch province of Noord-Holland. The name dates from the early 20th century, and is derived from the fact that the neighborhood's streets are named after islands and other geographical concepts in the former Dutch colony of the Dutch East Indies. The first street was named in 1902. In 2003, there were around 23,357 inhabitants. The neighborhood is bounded on the west by the railroad Amsterdam - Hilversum (with the Muiderpoort Station), on the east side by Flevopark, on the north side by Zeeburgerdijk and on the south side by the Ringvaart Watergraafsmeer. Indische Buurt is the oldest part of the Zeeburg district and is very ethnically diverse, and a high percentage of the population is of immigrant origin (for Zeeburg this is already high at 55%, but higher in the Indische Buurt) and there are an estimated 100 languages spoken.

The features of the room are:

- Twin beds (80 x 200 cm, down quilts and pillows)
- 2 pure cotton towels for each guest
- reading lamps
- bedside table
- wardrobe
- table with chairs
- tea and coffee making facilities
- mini bar
- alarm clock
- Hi-Fi system with radio, cd player, connection for mp3 player
- map of Amsterdam and public transport
- Wi-Fi Internet connection

Cancellation policy: Cancellation must be made fourteen full days prior to 12:00 AM local time on the day of check in, otherwise no refund. Our lovely bed and breakfast is situated near to the Museum District and Vondelpark in the popular and vibrant 19th/20th Century residential neighborhood of Oud-Zuid.
From our bed and breakfast you can easily access the famous Museum Quarter with the Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum and Rijksmuseum. The major museums make this area a unique travelers paradise. Moreover, you will find here many luxury boutiques, cafés and the majestic concert hall, the world famous Concertgebouw from 1888. Because of its highly regarded acoustics, this concert hall is considered one of the finest venues for classical music worldwide. Leidseplein is right at the other end of the Vondelpark. This place is synonymous for nightlife till dawn. At Leidseplein you find the Stadsschouwburg, which is the main theatre, several cinemas, many bars, clubs and restaurants, as well as the famous music temples Paradiso and Melkweg.
Our accommodation is positioned very convenient and a relaxed, half hour walk through Vondelpark will take you to the high-cultural cluster at Museumplein and / or to the very heart of the entertainment area at Leidseplein.
In the surrounding neighborhood you can find everything that makes your weekend break in Amsterdam comfortable and enjoyable. In walking distance there is a wide selection of cafés and delicious take-away. Restaurants range from Thai, Japanese, Indonesian food, to Brazil and Surinam kitchen, a Kosher restaurant and various Italian places. There is an outstanding wine bar next door and a cocktail bar at the corner. In summer one might prefer the beer garden at Vondelpark (at the park entrance across the street). Walking down the street, there are many convenience stores including a well-stocked supermarket (during the week open until 10pm, on Sundays until 7pm), a couple of small grocery stores, several bakeries, an eco-food-store, an exquisite small corner shop with the most delicious ice-cream, and very important - a late night shop that is open until 1am. Next door is a bicycle repair shop that is renting bikes. The rental fee is €10 per bicycle per day.
Our bed and breakfast offers 2 guest rooms for 2 persons each on the second floor of our private house. One room has the size of 25 m2 (No.1), the other 16 m2 (No.2). The rooms are offered separately, but can be requested together. This offer concerns the smaller room of 16 m2. The room is modestly furnished with some 1970s / 1980s furniture. It has a French bed with a good matrass. The two rooms share the bathroom which is equipped with a bath tub, washing stand and a toilet. This room has an extra washing stand. Wireless internet is available.
Generally we don’t do breakfast and it is not included in the room rates. There are however two very recommendable cafés in close proximity, which open early in the morning. Using our kitchen for making coffee or tea is always possible.
Our family and child friendly accommodation has been visited by the authors of the German DUMONT travel guides (Amsterdam. DUMONT Reise-Taschenbuch and Amsterdam. DUMONT direkt) and is recommended in the 2012 edition and the forthcoming 2014 edition.
Public transport and parking:
Our bed and breakfast is easily accessible with public and private transport. The tram lines no.1 and 2 have stops in close proximity to our house and connect straight to the Central Station at the IJ-embankment. The motorway exits S106-S107-S108 are close-by and the international Airport Schiphol is located in 12,5 km distance, easily accessible by train.
Street parking in our area costs €3 per hour or €21,60 per day (Mo-Sa; Su free parking). Alternatively, in close vicinity to our house, at the northern side of the 1928 Olympic Stadium is a municipal park and ride facility (P+R). Parking in the P+R facility after 10am during the week and during the weekend costs €1 per 24 hours. Parking during the week before 10am costs €8 for the first 24 hours and then €1 per 24 hours. You may leave your car up to 96 hours (4 days) in the garage. Since this is a park and ride facility and the low-priced parking is connected to the use of public transport, it is important that the last check-in with the public transport chip card has been in the center area. If this is not the case, the regular parking fee per hour is applied. The public transport ticket (OV chip card) must be purchased separately at the ticket machine available in the garage.
