Charming Quiet Rooftop Apartment, in Center of Historic Building
A spacious, newly renovated, 2 room, non-smoking rooftop apartment with own, separate entrance (full privacy!). The apartment is situated on the 3rd floor of a beautiful historic building, classified as a national monument. It consists of a large …
The apartment is spacious and exactly as pictured. The kitchen is well equipped and Arnd and his girlfriend are extremely welcoming and helpful. I think it would be difficult to find a better property to stay in while in Amsterdam, especially if you are in the city for an extended visit. I would recommend this property highly. Thank you, Arnd and Alla!
fantastic experience. The apartment is one of the best we have been to and also the location is great, close to the center. nothing is missing in the apartment and the owner and his girlfriend are exceptional people. no problem of communication and great seriousness.
This apartment was one of the best we have stayed in! The location as great and the customer service was phenomenal! Art was very attentive to our questions and needs. He was a great communicator and provided a fantastic stay for us! We rent from Home Away all the time and this was the best stay ever! The only thing that could have made this better is a second toilet, but even that would not have changed the review!!! We hope to be back, and we will definitely rent from Art again!!
My wife & I stayed at this fine and well furnished apartment from March 10, 2013 through March 17, 2013. I can't say enough of the help and assistance that Arnd gave to us even before we arrived. Though we didn't meet personally, he provided for us a wealth of information which included pamphlets, maps and even coffee. This apartment's location was perfect for traveling the city either by foot, tram or bike. The entire visit was wonderful and coming home to this apartment after a long day of site seeing was a cherished moment for us both. The bottle of wine was especially a nice touch along with the phone & wifi services. We would heartily recommend this warm and homey apartment to all prospective travelers to Amsterdam. Arne, you don't need to change a thing here- you got a perfect touch in providing for your quests-kudos. Most sincerely, Paul & Kathleen Fagley
Everything was perfect!
The accomodation, Arnd and Alla, the position (very close to all attactions).
We stayed here for 2 days in a very cold January weekend. This beautiful apartment made us feel home and is exactly like what you see in the photos. It is very spacious and nicely designed with a very comfortable bed, great heating infrastructure and a marvelous roof top that allows the light into the house. Although we havent met the owner in person, he was very considerate and was very keen on helping us in any way he could, not that there were any problems:) There was a quiet extensive folder about amsterdam and prinsengracht in general, on what to do, nearby restaurants etc. The apartment is very easy to find and very central, we only used transportation upon arriving and leaving the city. thanks for everything!
I highly recommend this place if your planning to stay in Amsterdam; great location (Historic Building), Nice environment and the owner was an amazing host, I had a perfect vacation in this wonderful spot close to everything and with a lovely home feeling.
I've been in this wonderful and well organized apt for 4 days with my sons (22 and 25) and we all have appreciated the owner accurate service and kindness .
The property is also better than in descriptions and we’ll surely recommend this location to friends

Perfect location! Very clean and cozy place with a lot of space. The owner is very helpful and reliable. For sure we will be back!
Excellent location, excellent apartment with every thing you need for a visit to Amsterdam. The owner was beyond excellent. He even left a note under the door saying we didn't have to rush out that last day. We could take our time as he didn't have renters for a few days. There are several things available in the suite that we never got around to using but nice to have them there. Would definitely try to rent again, next time we visit Amsterdam!
We really enjoyed staying 9 nights in this sunny, spotless apartment on the top floor of a newly restored vintage Amsterdam walk-up. Located on the prestigious Prinsengracht canal, the flat is literally at the best location to walk to everything you'd want to visit in the city and if it is too far, the stop for the museum line sightseeing boats is just 3 blocks away. There is the Prinsengracht tram stop at the end of the street and a taxi stand there as well, and it is simple to hop on and get to the main train station if you'd like to tour other parts of Holland. For those taking chartered tours or airport shared vans, the apartment address is very easy for a van pickup.
This top floor apartment is bathed in the classic light of Vermeer, and I took many still life photographs on the kitchen table as it was just a stunning light. The kitchen has a small fridge and stove top burner which was perfect for our needs, as well as a microwave, coffee maker, full utensils, pots, and pans. We didn't do much television watching as it was light so late and there was so much to do in this beautiful city, but there is a big flat screen TV and cable/satellite. The flat is outfitted with wiFi as well, and the password is provided.
The master bedroom has a fantastic bed with clean sheets and comforter and a private bath and sink. It's window opens to the back garden and is eye level with a lovely green tree which makes the room cool. The living room has an excellent pull out sofa which is not the variety with a pole in your back but a thick solid cushion for support. There is also a large leather sofa at the far end of the flat with a small library of books about the city in a variety of languages.
The shower/laundry room is really lovely with a giant walk in full rain shower and hot water 24/7. Stone floors, blow dryer, and a mirror heater make the day's end a pleasure. There is a washer/dryer unit and copious amounts of amenities, hotel slippers, and fat white towels. It just really is "first class".
Finally I will say that the owner Arnd was just the consummate host. He was prompt with mails and communications and left the key in a easy to open combination box at the front door so I could come right up after many hours of flying. He was available by email for any questions we had and left us a complimentary bottle of wine for our arrival and a detailed map to find local grocery stores, restaurants, and sites of interest in the neighborhood.
