The townhouse was beautiful. The photos just represents a smaller version than the grandscale of what it actually is. Furnitures were kept clean as with everything else. I did not see or bring any roaches home with me. The place was clean. The rooms were spacious. It had a cozy feel to it. I was glad that there were 3 baths and 2 bathroom. It gaves us more time to freshen up and not waiting around for one to be done. It was about 3-4 block walk to the subway and it doesn't take long to get into the city. The subway is alway constantly moving. When we got the townhouse on our 1st day and settle in, the host familiarized me with the area before he left. That's one thing I wasn't expecting. I thought it was turn over the key and see you at the end of the week. The host was gracious and hospitable, even when our flight was late getting in. The houses on this block were nice and clean. Traveling at night was a little awkward but that is the city life. We took the train/ bus to airport on the cheap and made it there in 2 1/2 hrs from Brooklyn. Still had time to spare in getting to the gate. Just allow yourself enough time. Overall I had a nice & pleasant stay at this location.
Bang for the buck you'd be hard pressed to find a better value for your dollar. This place is like the Cosby home from years ago. It's situated midway between the city & the suburbs but is both city & suburb. Outside you'll find a quiet neighborhood with old trees and birds pleasantly chirping. The Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park & the Brooklyn Museum are all within easy walking distance. So is public transportation. Markets & a bevy of good eating places are nearby. Within this spacious home you'll find a comfortable living room, an ornate dining area and a well equipped functioning kitchen . The basement has showers & laundry facilities besides a toilet. The upstairs has the main bathroom & three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a charming walkway closet connecting with a second bedroom. The closet feels like being on a luxury ship with its darkened doors, a sink & as a passageway between bedrooms. Although the place has many charms, not the least of which is the manager who shows a sincere interest in his guests comfort and goes well beyond expectation to insure their stay is both memorable & pleasant. If ratings were being offered I'd give a strong 8 out of 10 and would highly recommend it to those visiting N.Y.C.
We had a wonderful time staying at the townhouse, it was very comfortable and located just a couple of blocks from the subway into Manhattan. We enjoyed it so much more that trying to stay in a hotel, you get so much more information and get to see the area better. David was wonderful and showed us where everything was, restaurants, subway, museums etc. If we ever get back to the area we will stay again. The house was so cute and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
We had 5 guys that stayed for the weekend. We did the New York City 100K Inline Race. The location was very convenient to Prospect Park and within walking distance to the Park Slope shops. The price was right and David was very easy to deal with and very punctual. It is much better than getting a hotel room if you are looking for a place in the area. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the neighborhood felt very safe. There is a college a half block from the residence. The street is lined with Sycamore trees and was very quiet during the day and for sleeping at night. We were not disappointed. It is also conveniently located to a subway point, which was a 4 block walk. We were able to take this to Times Square and back on Saturday night.
We are a group of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We had an awesome stay at the townhouse last weekend! We were very happy the owner accepted late bookings and he made payment easy too, with cash on arrival. The owner met us at the property with a bottle of cold sparkling wine, what a welcome!! Perfect to relax after the long drive down from Ontario, and it made for an excellent start to our mini-vacation! The townhouse is in great condition and has a huge front room for socialising, well equipped kitchen and large dining room on the main floor. The bedrooms are a good size and there are plenty of beds to cope with big groups. The bathroom is original but was fully functioning and stocked with high end soap, shampoo and conditioner (that pleased the girls!). There is also a small deck out back if you have time to enjoy it too. The steps at the front and stairs might be a challenge for people with disabilities so I didn't check that option. If you're avid TV watchers, you might want to ask if the TV can be re-located to the front room, from the dining room, where the sofas are. All of the bedrooms have AC and were comfortably cool during our stay (mid August, warm and humid). Subway stations are only a short walk (4 blocks) and the service is good. Parking is on street and a trickier challenge as space is limited, so be prepared to park nearby, if you take your car out during the day. If you've not experienced the system of street cleaning in NYC/Brooklyn before, then I recommend you spend a bit of time studying the road signs and be prepared for the period of double parking and/or moving your car on some mornings. We opted for the subway each day and didn't find the parking to be a big issue. I loved the way owners on the street took care of their properties, sweeping the steps every day. It was heartening to see the care they took of their properties which added to the enjoyment of our stay. Will definitely check this property first if (when!) we come back. A great place to stay for access to Brooklyn or Manhattan. Recommended!
