There are so many cool hostels out there - I'm curious about the variety? Anyone stay a pretty interesting/out-there one? My favorite was definitely in Montreal - right in the old city. There were a bunch of cabins in a courtyard. Great people, awesome memories. :)

One of my favorite hostels is The Purple Pig on the Greek island of Ios. It's bright white (Greek-style) and sits on a hill a half a block away from the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the "town" full of restaurants and clubs. It's family owned and I love how all the rooms have open balconies that share walls so you can just hop over and visit your neighbors - from all over the world! Life doesn't get much better...

Oh mannnn - Lauren, when I went to Oktoberfest in 2008 (??) - I hung out with a group of people that met at this hostel. They said that it was like a summer camp for travelers. So cool! :P
