When you love your dog just as much as you love to travel, you may be well-versed in pooch friendly travel techniques. But what about those trips where bringing your dog just isn’t an option? Our friends at Rover recently conducted a survey of over 1,000 dog owners across the U.S. and found some interesting facts about pet parents who travel.
For starters, 70 percent said they would travel more if they had a trusted dog sitter. And even if they do manage to plan a get-away, 80 percent of owners say they spend time worrying about their dog while they’re away. While there are other reasons for this, the worry is likely caused by the fact that two thirds of dog owners are unhappy with their current dog boarding solution. As you may know there are many dog boarding solutions out there, but did you know that over 90 percent of Rover sitters receive a five star rating after each stay?
Now you may be asking yourself, “But what about when I can’t bring my dog and I’m worried about leaving them with someone, how do I know I’m finding a good sitter?” Great question! We know that there are lots of options out there when it comes to dog boarding, but maybe you want to find a trusted, in-home dog sitter. Places like Rover, make it super easy to find a great sitter in your neighborhood. All you have to do is create a free profile, search for sitters in your area, and message a few to find a perfect fit. You can even use the website to set up a meet-and-greet to meet potential sitters face-to-face. Better yet, sitters can easily send you text and photo updates while you’re away so you can rest assured your dog is enjoying their vacation as much as you are.
So while, yes, it’s great when you can take your pooch, it’s not always an option. So it’s always good to know that you’re not alone when worrying about what you’ll do with your pet while traveling and that there are great solutions like Rover out there!
