“Wonders of the World”
photo from GloboTreks
I don’t have to tell any of you how wondrous our world is. Every week I am blown away by what I learn from my fellow world travelers. However I don’t think the wanderlust has ever been as strong as the morning after this particular party. There are way too many must-sees; I’m slightly overwhelmed. Brace yourself as I recap this week’s #TNI- you may find yourself on the next plane to…
The Pre-Party: The More the Merrier
Every week #TNI’s attendance grows with new enthusiastic and engaging travelers. Like the Tripping Community, #TNI is stronger in numbers. Below are some newbies who joined the party this week. Please welcome them warmly so they will return! Reply a hello, kindly retweet, follow and/or list them. You obviously have something in common: Walkandtravel,CulturesEast, HW_Travel, CopperCanyonGuy
The Party: Discussion
I always thought there were seven wonders of the world, but clearly I am mistaken. And now I have a much longer to-do list than I did before #TNI. I’ll let a lot of the photos do the tweeting.
Natural World Wonders
GetPackedTravel: Great Barrier Reef, the largest living organism in the world, and spectacular to snorkel & scuba in as well!!
coreyann: Niagara Falls with Grand Canyon not far behind.
EBKPR: Greatest Natural Wonder? Definitely the Amazon forest for sheer size, diversity and beauty.
Manmade World Wonders
Chinamike1410: A long way up Badaling GW
melanierenzulli: One of my fave photos of the Taj Mahal: with clotheslines in front of it. Shows you what else is in Agra
adventurouskate: Leaning Tower of Pisa! Why not lean the wrong way?
GAT_ChinaTours: Stonehenge. They still don’t know how the rocks got there or what it’s
GAT China Tours: Stonehenge. They still don’t know how the rocks got there or what it’s for.
Should-be World Wonders
HotelPRGuy: Architectural Wonder: Opera Garnier Paris tops my list…
NicoleWills2: Table Mountain
PRwahine: Did anyone mention Moonbows? Maui has many!
mobilelawyer: Natural wonder? I just wanna give God a shout-out for grapes… and fermentation.
Tips and Tidbits
usatourismboard: if visiting a world wonder, try to get an unusual photo of it. You can get the perfect stock image from anywhere.
JaclynLeichtl: Don’t be afraid to take a local tour! You’ll get so much more out of it than milling around with the thousands of other tourists.
amandaelsewhere: think about what color the WW is then wear the opposite color for pictures! I wore grey at Great Wall, bad idea!
MeganSterritt: And 1 more thing – check in on FourSq so all your friends will be jealous!
The After-Party: Celebrations, Connections, and Cheers!
Like all good parties, the doors of #TNI stay open long after the scheduled end time. This week’s after-party left #TNI tweeps wondering. Whether about the wondrous workings of the weather or the wonderful people they just met at the party, #TNIers had plenty to say after Q10:
StayAdventurous: As I watch & listen to this rain, I realize #weather is a travel wonder too. Some great weather moments all over the globe.
locationSCOUTED: #TNI was awesome, as always. I’ve just added about 20 new places to my bucket list… damn you! See you next week.
mummy_t: Really lovely #tni. A reminder of why we travel, some inspiration for future journeys, and a host of funny people.
Here’s to the Hosts!
If anyone knows the invaluable importance of a good host, it’s a Tripper. Like a successful trip, behind any successful event is a fabulous host, or in #TNI’s case, fabulous hostesses! This party would not be possible without the ladies from Zip Set Go. Thank you ZipSetRachel, ZipSetAndrea, GoApril, and GoSaraBeth! And cheers to this week’s co-hosts: Gadling, traveldesigned, RickGriffin
