‘A stranger is just a friend you haven’t met.’

Tripping was featured in the New York Times today!

“A stranger is a friend you haven’t met”. We often go through the daily regiment without ever pausing to say hello to the person sitting next to us, the folks that pass us on the street, or even the lady in front of us waiting in line for the bathroom. During a trip to Miami, I was waiting with a group of other travelers for what seemed like an eternity because we had “lost” a few folks after the day only cruise ship docked on land. Tour guide was upset, anxious, and rather concerned. I could have been rather upset, but decided to turn around in the van and say hello to the couple behind me so that time would pass by faster. Turns out they were from Italy and I made a new friend that day whom I subsequently stayed with in the Italian countryside while on vacation.

“there are plans to use some of the site’s earnings to sponsor study abroad opportunities and trips for inner-city kids”. This is my favorite part about giving back to students and children that would otherwise not be able to travel abroad. Personally, I never actually studied abroad, however, if I had someone sponsoring me I would not hesitate for a second.
