What is the SafelyStay Damage Waiver?

Like insurance, a damage waiver offers coverage in case something becomes damaged or broken during the guest’s stay. There are two types of damage waivers: in both cases, the guest pays a one-time fee and receives coverage in return.

  • $30 damage waiver offers coverage up to $500
  • $45 damage waiver offers coverage up to $1,000

Damage waivers provide peace of mind to hosts and guests alike. We’ve partnered with SafelyStay to offer this damage waiver. Their team will assist with any damage claims and you can reach them directly at +1 (415) 735-4865 if you have any questions.

What is the SafelyStay Guest Verification?

Guest verification is a complete identity verification and background check offered by ZenRentals via SafelyStay. SafelyStay checks the guest’s identity against dozens of national and international fraud and crime databases. As a host, you have the option of requiring that guests undergo verification during the booking process: it only takes a few seconds and it will automatically stop guests with criminal backgrounds from booking your place. Please note that it costs $20 to verify your guests. We think it’s worth the peace of mind (especially since your ZenRentals listings can be booked instantly), but requiring it is completely up to you.

Cancellation & Refunds

What is the cancellation policy for hosts?

We understand that last-minute things come up and plans change. Hosts with ZenRentals listings can cancel up until 7 days before their guest’s arrival date without penalty. If the cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival, hosts may be asked to forfeit the 3% service fee which we’ll put towards helping the guest find a renameplcement home rental. Please note that we take cancellations seriously and hosts with multiple cancellations may be removed from Tripping. If you need to cancel a booking, please contact us immediately.

What is the cancellation policy for guests?

Just like for hosts, guests are able to cancel reservations up until 7 days before arrival without penalty. If the cancellation occurs within 7 days of arrival, the guest may not be eligible for a refund. (This is because hosts are counting on you to arrive and may not have time to find a replacement guest.) If you need to cancel a booking, please contact us immediately.
